I actually had the car justless than a year when the trouble started, and under 10,000 miles on it. But my travel increased about the same time, and I mangaed to put another 10,000 miles on in the time that they tried fixing it and Saturn dragging their feet. They wanted to charge me the whole amout for the current mileage. I fought that, because I had not had continuous use of the car during that time. Different states have different rules. But, no they were not going to pay off my loan. That is where the usage comes from. They will only pay up to a certain point in Georgia, where they are allowed by law to do that crap. Do lots of research on it. It was enough to sour me on GM. I certainly wont ever buy another saturn product, and will be happy when my '06 is gone.

My dealers attitude about the whole thing was this: If we can't duplicate the problem, we will not touch your car. Even after showing them video, they were hesitant. I had to leave the car sitting at the dealer so it would get a chance to have a cold start. Then, what happens? A tech starts it, drives it around for the other tech to start it. It onlt sputtered on cold starts, and the tech needed to have the scanner hooked up to see it happen. That happened a couple of times.

I hate getting on here, I feel like all I do is trash the car anymore and I know that pisses some people off...

I've had mine for nearly 2 years, so I should probably expect to have big usage charges aswell. How long do the whole process take from start to finish? I need to know so I know how fast I need to find a replacement car.

What I don't understand here is, how can they possibly file your car as a lemon, but pay you less than you owe on the car. Now, I relize that they don't want to loose their ass, but if they are taking the car back because it is screwed up, how can they honstly justify leaving you with a loan payment on a car that you don't even own?! It would be a completly different story if they gave you a percent back AND you kept the car. Man, that's just bad business, I don't care who you are. You should stand behind your product 100 percent and that to me is unprofessional. My buyout is 13,8xx.xx and I have 28,000 miles with just under 2 years of ownership and they even consider trying to give me less than what I owe, I will bring a lawer into the mix. I refuse to get screwed in this whole ordeal. Sorry that you had such bad luck. I pray to God they just take care of my loan without any issues because I really do not want to drag this thing out any further. I HATE THE MAN!!!! LOL

Sounds like BS to me, but no one ever wins in these situations. Then again I was given a cash settlement which was enough to trade the car and walk away even. The only thing I lost out on was a year of payment but no matter what I drove I would be making payments. Only in this case I walked away with nothing to show for the year of payments.

Welcome to the world of leasing

Other than the fact that lease payments are much lower

Just think of it as... you rented the car for a year

I loved the guys at Zimbrick in rockville on 355... been there? they were awesome to me. Not to mention they were the ones that tricked out my car before I bought it.

Very true. I am not complaining though. The car was not treating me well and I got out of it without taking it in the ass on the trade in. Hey, shit happens as they say.

Very true, sound as though you made out okay, all things considered. I sold Saturns for four years and in that time had one lemon. It was ugly but the customer wound up happy in the end (went from a 3.0 Vue to a 3.5 RLVue, so it worked out lol).

Every company has cars that just seem to have gremlins in them, who knows why. The only theory that we used and that seemed to make sense is the "Monday-Friday" car theory. Stating that you don't ever want to own a car that is built on a Monday or Friday because on Friday, everybody want'st go get home and their mind is not on the job. Monday is bad because everybody is hungover or tired or just unhappy to be back at work lol. Tues-Wed-Thurs cars is what you want. The sad part is i saw a couple of headache cars over time and we checked for kicks, and most of 'em were Monday-Friday cars lol.
