Warranty issues with.....

I am sick of waiting forever to get Stage 2. Got a great deal through a local dealer, $575, but they have to idea when then are coming in.

So I am close to just building my own Stage 2 including 2.9 pulley, 60lb injectors and harness, 76mm tensioner, and a custom HP tune. Have any of you guys with similiar mods had warranty issues with a dealer???

I need to be able to keep my warranty but what I would be ordering would be so close to the GM stage 2, they shouldnt really be able to give me that much grief??

Opinions please

Yea, as far as GM is concerned, it would be void. But then again it depends on how cool your dealer is to report it to GM..... but that is even stretching it in this case, as you are altering the PCM which I don't think many delers would like as you have the ability to nuke the engine REALLY fast if you don't know hwat your doing.

I'm not so sure I'd define 60# injectors as being similar to GM Stage 2

I would consider my dealer a cool dealer, after all they installed my K&N CAI and are now covering that under warrenty.

I would just reflash the car back to a basic Stage 2 tune before taking it to the dealer. And a black aftermarket pulley would just like the black one in the Stage 2 kit.

First, if you're only doing a 2.9" you definitely don't want to run 60lb injectors, you want 42.5lb. If you want 60s I would say get the ZZP 2.6" (doesn't require shaving the snout, though some have to clean up the snout a bit).

60s and a 2.9" would probably be a flat out waste. As far as warranty issues, if you have modified your car and something goes wrong, it is under warranty unless they can prove that what you have done has caused the problem. If you have problems be nice in the first place and kiss up. If they continuously refuse to fix the issue, then call 800-553-6000 and get a case #...they'll take care of it. Per the Magnusson Moss Warranty Act they can't void your warranty unless they can prove what you have done voids it. The GM kits have a 2 year warranty on their parts.

He's right. I'm in the waiting room at Chevrolet having my 2.9 pulley installed. I handed my lead service tech the box which had the pulley's (2.7 and 2.9) and the sparkplugs. He had this look on his face like "it's about time you do something to this thing." You just have to find the right dealer bro.

Well I am starting now w/ and 2.9 pulley to see how my car deals with it, then next summer upgrade to a 2.7 pulley so I will eventually need the 60lb injectors, I just figured I would buy them now instead of the 42.5 then 60lb.

My car has had all the usually RL issues of things breaking, tsb's, etc. I just want to be carefully w/ what I do, I tend to worry about the warranty toooo much but I need MORE POWER.

If you're going to buy an aftermarket pulley, it makes little sense to get a normal style pulley, meaning, get a modular one so you can change to a different size if you so choose later with much less hassle.

Bro, I'm worse than you. Trust me...I have a cobalt. You'll get over it and try to talk to people arounjd your area and find a dealership that wants to see your car be faster.
