I'm saying it's an attempt that people have tried and gave up on, would you rather me say 'it's an attempt that takes a shit load of patience and whatnot'.

Anyway Im not going to do these anymore, not worth the hassle with the spoiler I guess or actually finding a Redline in SLC

Alright, well screw it then, I'll just keep my damn wing on or have it removed and filled in down the road professionally.

Wow, just saw this thread.

Vandy, professionally or a complete trunk swap is probably the better way to go. I am sure you can find some kid with a regular QC of the same color that would entertain a swap.

I understand what Freakazoid was trying to say. We pulled a wing at the dealership for a customer and it was a nightmare. We actually dented the trunk during the removal. That tape that GM uses is insane. In the end, we wound up having to just swap a "wingless" trunk from another car on the lot to satisfy the customer.

All Freak was sayin was that the wing removal process is a pregnant dog and he is VERY right.

i think he meant a female dog.

i.e. it's a bitch

but yea so many people have just ruined their hoods are had problems with it, a swap would be alot easier with all the trunks running around on regular ions

Wow..removing the wing isn't all that much of a pain guys..seriously.

Spike and I did mine in this manner in just a few minutes..just needs buffed now :

remove bolts, heat underside of lid with hair dryer, use strong fishing line to slice through the tape, then use goo gone to remove the sticky bits left and just roll them off..

It's super simple..

You can see where my spoiler rubbed against the lid and there's a minor blimish in the clear coat.. I'm going to have a buddy cover the holes and repaint anyway..so it's not a huge deal. For now the plugs'll be just fine and I'll wait until a CF one comes out or I get someone to one-off me one.

As far as the removal goes..it helps if you heat the underside..

Sorry for getting upset guys... had a bad day and mis-read something. Anyway I guess its too difficult to remove the spoiler on a cobalt/redline so we're not going to do plugs for them. thanks though.
