New Fastest Top Speed for Me

How accurate is the MPH reading in the interceptors?

If it's fairly accurate, I think I have a new top speed for me...

Chasing a skittle and a CTS-V last night down a hill, I glanced at the interceptor and saw 161mph. I've been to 150mph pacing a cobalt SS that buried their 150mph needle on the speedo, so I know it's capable. Add a downhill run, and I believe I was going at least that fast (not to mention I was still on it, so 161mph might not be the fastest I've gone, just the fastest I've seen myself go).

I have never gone over 135, and I felt dumb for doing that. I can't see a race really lasting over 120 ever, and even that is extreme.

The intercepter uses values from the PCM, which are going to be very similiar to what the regular guages are displaying and in general, are not extremely accurate at high speeds. There's not good cheap way to get accurate readings at high speeds.

When your speedo reads 1.21 gigawatts, that's when you worry.

I'm gonna try to log it next time to see how fast I can push it. Perfect stretch to do it...straight downhill, little traffic later at night. Only one light in there to worry about and it's usually green unless someone it at the crossroad waiting to turn.

Speed Limit is only 50mph through there, so I doubt anyone will chase at 3x the speed limit

EDIT: BTW - no shakes or anything....car feels pretty solid at those speeds - forgot to mention that earlier
