Clicking??..

does anyone else have clicking in their...exhaust...maybe after engine shut off??

Yes. I hear that as well after engine shutdown. Especially after running it hard.

I 2nd that, im not sure what it was but it did it with like every other saturn ive had. Didnt cause any problems with them.

Could it be the heat shields cooling down, or are you guys describing a different sound?

As Gary said, it's probably the heat shields around the catalytic convertor. I asked the tech at the local Saturn dealership and he said that was the noise I was hearing too. He also said the cooler the climate the more clicking you'll hear. I live in S. Florida and now that we have a cold snap, I'm hearing that sucker clicking away even while it's running!

Mine does it as well, it is just the metal expanding and contracting a bit. The exhaust is possibly of some alloy that has different properties than normal. Its nothing to worry about.

Even though I realise that nothing is wrong with the exhaust, that noise is really annoying. You can hear it even while you are driving. Not much of a problem, I guess.
