Our stock brakes are incredible!!!

Coming home from work today. I was excited that I just got my car back so I was punching it and hauling ass pretty much every chance I got. I was in the far righ lane and it was WIDE OPEN. So I downshift to third and punch it. I'm doing about 90 and this rig decides he needs to move into my lane about 50 yards in front of me. I SLAM on the brakes and got ready to hit the back of the trailer. I ended up stopping JUST in time. It scared the living shit out of me. I was thinking, Oh God, I just got my car back and now I'm going to wreck. But alas, I did not. Good damn brakes man. Good damn brakes.

Glad to hear you got the car back, and here is another story about our brakes.....

We have roundabouts here in LV and I personally think they are the stupidest thing, no one knows how to drive them, so I am doing about 20 around one and there is 3 cars total with me, needless to say some chick on her cell phone just cuts me off and has no idea that she does it or that she can't go the way she is going, I slam the brakes, ABS kicks in and I am like 2 inches from her door stopped on a dime.....

+1 for our brakkes and -10000000 for stupid woman drivers on cell phones

Those round-a-bouts have been making there way over here. Seems like the Liberals are pushing them because they are more fuel efficient that stop signs. Did you know that speed bumps was 4 billion gallons of gas a year? But yeah, I've been cut off in them way too many times, and of those times, I can't think of ONE time that the person even noticed they cut me off.

Edit: I pulled the "4 billion" out of my ass. But I read somewhere it was an astronomical amount, and that the VAST majority of speed bumps are in CA. It was a College out there that did the study, so I'm sure it's a bit biased/statistically challenged.

If you don't have roundabouts and they want to bring them to your town....FIGHT IT, I have seen more accidents there than at stop signs, that is for sure.

There're not going to be in my town, especially since there are only two roads in my town.... lol. But they're coming around where I work, and I can't win against Liberalism in Madison WI. It was one of the first city's to have a city-wide smoking ban. It's kinda a mini-San Francisco. Going downtown is very similiar to going to a carnival, except the people are happy and gay (downtown not at the carnival).

Yeah, over in europe they've always had the runnabouts, those people just haul ass through them, don't even slow down, but they never wreck. The liberals around here are getting them put in all over the place. They also have been putting the smoking ban in, one county at a time. It's killing the bar buisness! In the county I live in, you can't smoke in the bar, but the surrounding countys you can, so everyone goes to the other bars where you don't have to go stand outside and smoke like an idiot. They are all closing down one by one.

Oh yeah, forgot what the topic was for a second there, sorry JPK. Yeah glad you got yer baby back, leave the mods alone 'til you get your payments in order man, don't wanna see that happen to you again. But yeah, my breaks have saved my ass on more than one occasion. Just the other day, I was in traffic and I see the right lane open up, so I'm cruising along in the right land and all of a sudden these 2 asian women in a solara decided to make a right turn out of the left lane, right in front of me! I slammed on the breaks and cut the wheel hard to the right, missed their door by probably less than an inch!

down here, smoking is banned in most public buildings. I think it is one of the best things they have ever done. I love enjoying my food without having to smell some assholes cigarett from over in the "smoking section".... like deviding a resturant into smoking/nonsmoking sections does anything. However smoking is still allowed in bars and clubs. There is a place for everything... public buildings are not the place for smoking imo.

but ya, back on topic. here they have these little half assed round abouts, but there are still stop signs at entrances to them... not sure what they are trying to accomplish with that. just pisses me off, and i usuall just cut accross to whatever street i need to go down.

Why is the guy smoking an 'asshole'?

Smoking bans PISS me off... ya know what I hate? The smell of hot sauce. Make me sick to my stomach, but I gotta put up with that stench... Cracks me up... you can sit here and chow down on greasy crap, get drunk, and then head out into traffic. That's cool. However, don't you dare light up a smoke... Fucking bullshit... So now, I just don't go out anymore. Fuck 'em. I'll give my money to the grocery store...

Madison is only 230k. The smoking ban has been in effect 16 months or so. There's been about 8 big bars that have gone under, and it's estimated to cause losses of approximately $400 million already. Sure, some people do just go outside the city limits to smoke, but the majority of people who are affected are downtown, many of who either don't have a car, or use it as little as possible because parking is such a bitch. So, they've done just like said above, and stayed home. So, now we're paying the cops to visit homes more often than ever. It's just great I totally understand why smoking should not be allowed in some places. But in a bar or tavern, it should be allowed. If a bar owner voluntarily wanted to ban smoking, he would have the right to, anyway, and for those that want that environment, he'd have a niche, as well. So, this is just bull-shit. As SpOOner said, why is it that alcohol is ok, and we STILL ARE NOT ENFORCING our Drinking and Driving laws, but smoking is REALLY BAD?!?!?!?
