nitrous oxide?

i have heard many good things about nos (power gains) and bad things (destruciton of engine)...has anyone put nos in their redline or plan to...i am thinking about upgrading with everyhting CAI, headers, boost upgrade twin cahrger, if i put nos im thinking our cars would be unstoppable...what are some setups you would suggest or have done on other cars...i was thinkin of only a 30 or 40 shot..nothing huge...because my car has to last me a while...im not real knowledgable on nitrous so please inform me of how it destroys your engine or if its even worth the money..and how much would a good nitrous system cost..and how much do each bottles cost?

I think it is gravana that has a nitrous express system listed for us for like $525. It is 35/50/75 shot. As for the mechanical questions, I would like to know the answer also.

The engine could easily handle a 35 or 50 shot...

*WET SHOT*

Dry shot, I nuked a motor that way, it's not cool.

Anyways, getting nitrous is kind of pointless after twincharging. The whole point of a twincharged system is to use the supercharger for down low response and the turbo for big power. Nitrous in a system like that simply serves as an additional spooling aide for the turbo. Bear in mind that all you're doing with nitrous is adding additional air to an engine so that you can add more fuel. With twincharging, I'd probably consider actually going the way of alcohol injection - that way you can run some serious boost levels safely and make big power to boot.

i have been told the only "SEMI SAFE" way to put nitrous on our cars is direct port, and that as with any nitrous system will limit the life of your car.now, if you just want super cold air which = more hp you can hook up a cryo2(a c02 system) system, almost the same effect as nitrous but half the price and none of the problems ie,detination.a 10lb bottle refill of nitrous is anywhere from 30 to 50 dollars depending on where you go.a 10lb bottle of c02 to refill is about 10 to 13 bucks.

i was thinking about getting a cryo2 system but do u think it would work if u put the bulb b4 the supercharger, i guess that in all theory it should cool down the air just like a CAI but i am not sure if it would work as good b4. I also have no idea where to hook it up after without some serious mods

The engine could handle it, but I would be more concerned with the blower. From what I've heard, supposedly over time the coating gets worn off the blades and greatly reduces the efficiency over time when using nitrous on a Eaton style blower.

you don't have to worry sbout that with c02. i think it will work fine b4 the blower. i mean your your freezing the air after it comes through the cai and before the blower which will cool your blower down a great deal as well.

*direct port will be the safest way to go with nitrous*
