what to look for when buying a redline.

are there any problems I should look for when buying the redline . sounds or driving problems that are linked to problems ? i just want a heads up so i dont buy something thats crapola . and is there an estimated miles before the supercharger needs to be replaced or serviced? sorry i dont know alot about this car , but im trying to learn .

well if the tranny makes a weird noise like a rattling bag of marbles, dont worry, its normal...

But if the supercharger sounds like a bag of marbles, it's going out. Really, though. Look at the intake box. If it's factory, your fine. If it has an aftermarket cold air intake or short ram intake, keep your eye out for the check engine light. Not saying it WILL come on. But if it wasn't properly installed, they throw the light. If the dealership that sold you the car saw the light on and couldn't figure out why, they might have just cleared it to try and sell it. The platform itself is very stable in stock trim. But if the last guy did some modding and did it wrong, this car gets finnicky. Listen to the exhaust too and see if it sounds like an exhaust leak right behind the engine. The flex joint is poorly made and cracks sometimes and makes that sound. Not much more than that. As I said, aside from a few rattles from the infamous plastic interior, it holds up pretty well.

If it's an 04 or early 05, check the filler neck for the intercooler coolant, make sure it's flowing. If it's not flowing, the wiring on the intercooler pump is reversed. Also check if the car pulls left slightly when driving.
