Winter > Redline

well there was a snow storm today and im taking dads truck out of the garage to go to work but my RL was behind it so i start shoveling to move the RL and finally i decide i shoveled enough for it to get out. so i put it in reverse and naturally i get stuck, so i keep shoveling it out and an hour later imstill there, well my neighboor comes out with a rope and says hell use his truck to pull me out, so im sceptical about where to tie the rope and i ask him to hold on while i go put my snow boots on. as im inside my dad an neighboor decide to pop the trunk and figure that my latch to close the trunk is strong enough to support the car being pulled................ iknow, i was shocked too.......so they try it and obviously break the latch.... so now my trunk closes cuz i kind of pushed it back in to place btu its not stable and im afraid driving with it, the trunk will pop open at any time... also when i press the button to open it when its close it makes a loud knocking sound... going to saturn tomorrow. how much do you think this will cost me? hmm maybe warranty will cover this............. lol

well just wanted to share my story, i hate winter

It will cost you zero, because your dad should pay.

Easy fix in the body shop. If there's no cosmetic damage, they will just re-align the latch, like you probably already did. Just watch it closely as it closes and make sure the catch is hitting the hoop near the middle. Make sure it opens and closes properly, and the body lines still look good. If you can't pull it open, it probably will never open on it's own...
