The perfect dyno?

I'm sure for most of us the closest dyno location is a bit of a trek from your house. Driving a long distance and jumping on the dyno can really hurt your numbers. I thought giving some tips on what you can do to get the best results would help some of the guys who plan to take their cars in for baseline/tuning.

Assuming no one can control their altitude, what are some other suggestions you think can help or at least not hinder a good run?

-Try to go on a low temp/low humidity day

-Go at least an hour ahead of you scheduled time

-Open the hood when you arrive

-Bring ice

Other factors:

-No more than 3 pulls before cool down

-Use the highest octane fuel

-Good tire tread/alignment/balancing

-

Anything else I didn;t think of?

Those are all good ways to get yours numbers up. I personally would have more like an hour or so for the car to cool as much as possible. I mean even when I let my car sit for 3 hours the temp gauge reads active... I mean we are looking at like a few hp, but unless your cars almost overheating (full boost for like 15 minutes straight) then I think your numbers with be within only a 5 hp radius. From the numbers I have seen, as long as your intercooler is working and your car is aligned/tires are balanced. Then you should get min of 205-210 WHP / 185-190 WTQ But thats just an average of stock cars that I have seen between CSS's and RL's. Take Care

Yeah, I agree an hour or more is a smarter choice, I'll edit the top post. Thanks for the reply!
