Problems

Well, I've had some problems with my 06' Redline and I thought yall might like to hear about it.

Blue '06 Redline, Purchased in March 2007 with 180 miles on it.

Within the first month:
Car would go into Limp Mode = Bad PCM
Sunroof malfunctioned and wouldn't close all the way = Replaced Sunroof Assembly
Rattle in glovebox area of dash = Replaced Dash Assembly

Since then:
Window switches stopped working = Replaced Both Sets of Window Switches
Rear-view mirrors switch would lag or not work = Replaced Switch Assembly

AND...

I from Beaumont Texas (Southeast Texas), I came up to Kansas on Friday to visit and friend and go back to Beaumont on Monday. I went to move my car yesterday afternoon and I got a check engine light and a limp mode light. Called the dealer, called Saturn Roadside, got the car towed to the nearest dealer, they determined it was a malfunctioned Accelerator Petal issue and they overnighted a the assembly, it should be in sometime monday and I should be back on the road on Tuesday at the latest.

This is the third car I have owned and the second car I bought new. The first car I bought was a 2002 SL1. I didn't have any trouble with my SL1 and I put 130k miles on it until I traded it in on the Redline. I love the redline and I love driving it but man these issues are just wearing me out. My dealer and the dealer here in Kansas have not given my any trouble and have been very helpful, but it is such a drag to keep having issues come up and have to take it in to get it worked on and get parts replaced. The tech at the dealer that worked on my window switches said he had never seen any of those switches on that model go out, he had never had to do that before. Oh well, at least they haven't given me any bullsh*t and everything has been covered by the warranty.

Anyways, I just thought I'd share that with yall,

-J

well at least you get it all covered under warranty. but if to many more problems happen i would call saturn and have them buy it back, and get a different one. just to let you know that some RL never stop having problems, we had one at our dealership it was in there at least once a month with a different problem. Saturn eventually bought it back and they got a new one.

and you might be thinking well it was only one bad one. well we sold a total of 5 RL, so thats 20% of the RL sold had problems

Wow, sorry to hear about the problems. I also an 06. The only problem that I have had was my cruise control stopped working. Went to the dealer and the "adjusted" something under the dash. Took like 2 hours. No problems with it since.

Glad you got the car, and i'm sorry you're having so many problems. Bad news, you've had ALOT of problems so far, but the good news, you've had problems no one else has had. That just means it's been a string of unfortunate events, but you have good times to look forward to.

Hmmm, that's weird to have so many problems that we usually never hear about around here. They all seem to be electrical problems too, makes me wonder if that car was anywhere near katrina and got all wet or something. I also traded in an sl1 on the RL. My '04 has been pretty much trouble free for me.

I went over the dealership this afternoon to get some stuff out of my car and I got to talking to the service manager and a couple of the techs about the problems I have had and if it could be related to water damage or what? The guys said that due to the placement of the items that have given me trouble, if it was water damage then the water would've really been high, which would mean that you would see signs of water damage in other places before it would have gotten to the point to affect the areas I have had problems.

I guess the real thing is just to be happy it is all cover by warranty, and hope that it is just on the few cars that has a string of problems and then is just fine.

LoL, such is life.
