*ION* springs in general...

I was under the impression that Ion springs no matter redline or base model has the same "configuration" so to speak...like I see posts about ppl mentioning putting redline factory springs on the regular Ions...and I thought that you could put regular Ion aftermarket springs on the redline....coulda sworn I saw that in a post when I was searching....

So i ordered the "sprints" from springtech(suspension max)...and you guessed it, didnt work out up front the strut mount wont fit inside the top of the spring...idk, maybe I missed this somewhere or something...should I just buy some regular Ion strut mounts or what? or Just sell em?

uhh... they should fit. they don't make springs for the redline, we all just use 'regular ion' springs as they are the same....

Do you have the fronts in the back??? the rear springs are the skinnier ones most likely, and DO spiral tighter on the ends....

yea...you can def tell the rear from the front. They jus dont fit at all...they spiral tighter but the strut mount wont go in the top part which is "smaller" part of the front spring and i flipped the spring to see if I had it upside down or something and it would fit in the "bigger" part of the front spring but loose ....any one got pics. Is the smaller end of the spring supposed to go down and the bigger part up this sucks....pics of sprints installed on others would def. help

This looks like it went on the top just fine from OEM Rejects post, is there any modifications that need to be done to the strut mount or what? Maybe my springs are defective????

OEM Rejects springs vs mine...see how mine coils in at the "top" the mount wouldnt fit in there....and it did fit on the bottom part but really loose, does anyone elses strut mounts fit kind of "loose" when you were putting the strut back together? and isnt the bottom of the spring supposed to seat to the all the way...any help on this would be appreciated...

anyone ever install the springtech version of the "sprints"??

*edit*...ill post the pic of mine in a sec, guess it exceeded the limits

dunno man....like NR said, they "should" fit

The spring looks the same as stock except that it's shorter.

You got everything lined up correctly???

yea...it definately doesnt fit in the top part of the spring, see how it that last coil closes pretty good compared to the other ones? And when i flip it the other way the strut mount fits "loosely" is it supposed to be pretty firm in there...

I feel like it will almost come through w/the spring with the pressure on it...and if it was flipped around, that bottom part definately wouldnt extend to the end of the purch...

the guy said this springs arent exactly like the sprints(obviously)...so im hoping someone can who installed the springtech ones can chime in also...
