Odd noises under valvecover!

At idle, do any of you hear weird clunky sounds? Like a rocker/lifter need to be tightened. I get this odd noise every once in a while.

PLUS - these things just sound noisy anyway, almost diesel like.

I got a 2004 RL w/ 9K on the odometer!

i also hear slight clunk/valvetrain noise ... it was like this when they first fired the car up for me (all 3 of them actually) so I *think* its normal ... and the tranny clunks at low speeds. I know its valvetrain because i can hear it "shift" if i give the motor a tiny bit of throttle at a standstill.

maybe your hearing the timing chain? sometimes the chains are bit noisier than timing belts.

If you think our engines are noisy you should listen to one of those ford duritech's from a focus.

i'm used to my 5.0 with a dual roller timing chain, and ancient valvetrain, and this thing is easily as loud up front.
