I inquired today with one of the suppliers we have at the shop I work at about the Magnaflow catback system for the redline. His listing for it showed it as being for the redline and the cobalt ss. Going by that, I am assuming that they are the same.

Magnaflow has audio clips of their catback system on their website. It sounds really good. When I called the supplier that I deal with, they told me it was $445.00, and that is 2 1/2 inch tubing from the cat back, all stainless, a mufller with a 4 inch rolled polished stainless tip. I will be ordering one soon for mine.

hey if you want a custom 3 inch jason smith (the guy who is selling the header and strut bar on ebay) is making me one right at this moment. im going to be running one of his headers with a stock cat and a 3" 16 inch long resonator with a borla xr-1 racing muffler part number bor-40085. also have a nice little chrome tip that has holes on the inside to help mellow the sound. i dont need tickets. ill upgrade to a better cat once i get the stage 1 and II kit when ever they come out. I have the wet stage 1 nx system but i havent used it yet im waiting to find a worthy car so at least when i kill them it will be worth something

3" inch is really overkill for most of our cars ss,rl,srt4. There are srt4's that have a 3" DP with 2 1/2" cat back making 400 H.p.

I doesn't split until the very back and isn't a true Y. It is a split off.
Here is the pic. It so far back it can't possibly increase the flow that much.

and there are 270 whp Grand Am Cobalts running 3" exhaust systems. I am sure GM had a reason for it.
