Arrow Shift Knob POS???

Hey Guys,
Just wanted to ask if anyone else has had any trouble with the shift knob?? I shifted into third last night and heard a weird noise like something bounced off of my sunglasses that were in my cup holder. Only to realize seconds later that the plastic shift knob had come off the top of the shifter, hit my sunglasses and fallen onto the floor. I already have an appointment today at Saturn to fix the stupid weatherstripping thats giving me problems with my tinted windows, so i'm going to have them check out the knob today, hopefully they find a better answer than attempting to glue it back on only to have it fall off again??

Believe me you are not the only one, although my sunglasses were not affected.

Yeah, I shifted into 2nd one time, and the knob was in my hand, and the spring inside flew out and shot off the windshield like a bullet. I was just glad that it didn't crack the windshield. I definately need to change that thing out. It is just pressed on to the end of the shifter.

Do you know what their actually doing?? I have an appointment today but I don't know what to expect them to do. I've read that some got the entire shifter replaced, others had them press down on the knob really hard or add some glue and hope it doesn't happen again.

13,000 miles and 14 months later and I have not experienced any shift knob problems.

They're replacing my knob and some plate today. I'm sure it'll be a typical saturn hack job and I'll have to bring it back again. I'll keep you posted.
