Yea, I usually hit the limiter just as I pass the 1/4 mark.

Well it does look bad on Saturn's part when it comes down to it. When people pick up that rag and read it they get the impression the Red Line sucks, it's a bottom of the barrel car, and potential buyer may opt for one of the other cars. Unfortunately, there are idiots out there that base their car buying decision from magazine editors opinions.

I guess it would not be as bad if the SS and RL were ranked in consecuitive order, but 3rd and 5th come on, something isn't right. That crappy magazine always rags on Saturns. The only vehicle in Saturns lineup they really praised was the RL VUE, and that's probably becuase of the Honda 3.5 powerplant. Then again it seems most rags such as C&D, Motor Trend, R&T are biased towards imports.

I read a review from Motor Trend on the up and coming Saturn SKY and Aura, and they gave both of them pretty good reviews. The SKY even made the cover along w/ the Shelby GR1, the '05 Mustang Convertible, Lexus LF-A, and '06 Eclipse. Each car had their own caption, the SKY's was "Wow! It isn't boring!". I think it says a lot. It says that Saturns have the image of boring daily transportation but they're quickly breaking that image. In the article it goes on to say
Quote:
Recognizing that the Sky stems from the Solstice in't hard. Some classify the look as more subtle and elegant, with a more upscale interior.
and
Quote:
GM doesn't believe in oversteer here; the only way you'll be able to break the Sky's (or Solstice's) tail loose is via trail-braking. "It'll be an extremely good track car," the automaker boasts
But yea, putting the Saturn last in the comparison definitely hurts. It's nice that Saturn was included, but the RL is better than 5th out of 5. The only thing an RSX has that is better than a RL is the dash. and that's it. The RL has better numbers all around, better seats, better exterior styling (subjective), and the quad-doors. A better dash is not a very good reason to say the whole car is better. I am going to give a fair re-judging of the cars, seeing as how I've been in all 5 cars at some point.

1. SRT-4 ACR
2. WRX
3. Comp. Package ION Redline
4. Cobalt SS Supercharged
5. RSX Type-S

Thier final results were actually as follows: RSX-S, WRX. SRT-4, CSS, Redline. The RSX took first even though it had the worst performance numbers. Pretty dumb IMO since it is a SPORT compact test. It is kinda like having a comparison of 4X4 trucks and giving the win to the one with the best gas mileage.

How did the RSX win? Where did it score high?

All of these cars are classified as "compact"? Compact cars are constantly getting bigger. Compact SUVs....
