Whats up guys...

I'm new to the board and although I don't have a RL, I am pretty easy to get along with and respect most cars(except imports, not a very big fan of them)... I looked for RLs for a while when searching for a new car, they are impossible to find used... I got a good deal on my GTP so I went with it... I've been wanting to race a RL or SS Cobalt for a while now, I honestly believe it would be a good damn race... Today, I tried my luck with an LT1 trans am today with not much success(wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be though) but on the bright side I waxed a 97' Gt mustang(didn't realize how slow they are) ...

I haven't had my car very long so its still stock(for now) but I'm eyeing some pulleys, a CAI, exhaust, and Jet programmer(which seems to be the only programmer available)...

I know you all are probably wondering why I am here, I assure you I'm not here to cause trouble, I've got much respect for the RL/SS Cobalt, its just there doesn't seem to be a popular GTP board and I figure this is good enough... I don't really know how you all treat non-RL owners but i'm here to find out...

This is how we treat non RL owners..Welcome! I've raced a few GTPs since I picked up my RL and it's always been close and a lot of fun. You'll probably find that we're among the most mature and focused group of enthusiasts on this here internet. As with any forum, there are terds but don't let the few cast a shadow on the many.

Nobody wants to sell their RL because the resale value is shit.

Welcome Sir, A lot of us are mature(I'm a big kid) we're all enthusiasts. and you will gain some knowledge and enjoy it every time you check to see what's happening. And I won't sell my RL because I aint done with it yet.

Good choice in a car. My last car was a 98 GTP until it caught on fire and the engine exploded (literally).... LOL don't mean to scare you but it did happen. Still great car.

I had the pully swap, CAI and exhaust done. Those are definate worthwhile upgrades.

Another good site is http://www.oqcgp.com/main.php
It's a Canadian GP site but the guys on there are cool and know their stuff.

I'm from Northwest Alabama, haven't seen many RLs in this area(like 2) and only two SS Cobalts(a black one and a drak blue one)... And none used, i searched for around 6 months and didn't even find one within 500 miles... When I first began looking I found a black 05' for $13,500 with like 18k on it, called about it, it sold the 2nd day it was on the market... Since then I didn't find one even listed...

We have plenty of GT Mustangs and V8 f-bodies here... My brother has a 99' TA so I more than know what they are capable of but I do want to get exahsut, a CAI, programmer, and pulleys so I can show some of those GT owners what is up... I also plan to beef up the transmission a little, from what I hear that is one of the downsides of the Gtps... I got a warranty to 75k(extended) on top of my factory warranty so I'm not too worried, and I'm going to get all my parts through GM so the warranty isn't voided... Well except for the programmer, but I can always reset that back to stock anyways...
