New "steel" GG torque brace torture test

Went to the drags last night and hammered the car for 7 or 8 passes.
The good news - Took a close look at the "steel" brackets and I don't see any tearing or bending or anything - I'd say these are probably gonna hold up to what ever you throw at them. The bad news - They wont totally stop wheel hop at the strip, but they do help. If you launch reasonably hard (above 2500 rpm's or so) I guarantee you'll get some wheel hop and what it's going to take to eliminate it at the strip i'm unsure of at this point. This was done with a version 3.1 (forward mount) clone of GG's brace.

shit dawg. You had me confused there for a second. I was thinking no way you got it already they went out yesterday. Good show though. The way to eliminate hop is to isolate the mount all together thus 3.3 this is on the track. You already know on the streets is gone. But at the strip the mount still moves up and down no longer forward. the 3.3 triangulates it and no way to move it.

the 3.3 is US$80 over the cost of the 3.1 or 3.2, and i believe 80 if you've already got the brace.

they can be added and removed for track use as it's a two brace system as opposed to a single brace which is good for daily driving. with the 3.3 you're basically adding a removable solid mount so when you want to beat it up on the track you can, but can still enjoy the comforts of daily driving.

Looking forward to the steel brackets. The aluminum failed on mine yesterday. The noise was horrifying as the bolt started rubbing on the alternator pulley. No harm done though, just lost a little paint from the pulley.

Is the addition of the 2nd brace (3.3) going to require drilling, or is it bolt on?
