it's official!

It's official....

my car is a piece of shit...

I've pretty much had it with this car. Today when I was out driving my car, it went into limp mode and threw a CEL. I'll admit I was driving alittle "spirited" but still I always drive it like I stole it and never threw up a CEL or limp mode. Here is the story...

I was on the freeway, saw a 240sx that blew off. I downshifted to 3rd to go catch him. Mind you, I didn't have to chase him it took me like a second to get next to him. As soon as I got next to him, my car bucked like I hit a wall ( i did not hit the rev limiter ) and I couldnt accelerate. I upshifted to 4th gear and pressed the gas and nothing. NO ACCELERATION PERIOD. My gf than made it apparant to me that my CEL is on, I look over and my gas gauge reading is all fucked up too. I had alittle over a quarter tank before the CEL came on, when it came on it said I had no gas. I pulled over at the next exit, neutraled my way into a parking lot. Let my car sit there and it seemed like it was struggling to stay on. The idle was fluttering from 500rpm to 900rpm. I turned off my car and let it sit for a minute. Turned it back on and it was fine, idle rpm was fine, gas gauge was fine, everything was cool.

With this experience and the 20+ different problems i've had with this car within 12k miles and 9 months. I've come to the conclusion that I dont want this car anymore. It's a piece of shit. It's a fun car that I do like, but it's a pain in the ass hassle that I dont need.

I believe i'm about half way to being able to lemon the car. i got the car 15 days out of 30 so far. I have 9 things to bring it in for soon so hopefully I will break the 30day period.

I will be contacting Saturn Corp tommorow or Friday to express my displeasure with thier car.

Anyone have advice or words of wisdom for me???

It was a R/T. No, I didn't beat it by much, you're right. It gave a damn good fight. And the second time was fun because I got to take it around a twistie . That is a bad ass car. I'd like to hear it with an exhaust. You planning on modding it?

I totally understand how you feel DL.

I on the otherhand have not had a problem in allmost 4 months (knock on wood)

I have also been fortunate that my only mechanical problems have been the cam recall thing and some solenoid. (knock on wood).

I didnt wanna say anything at first. Do you think one of your performance mods aint goofin somthin up.

Exhaust will be first thing big frigin magnaflows, intake, 3.73s (stock 2.5? gears) in the rear and perhaps some NOS. No forced induction on this pig. big wheels and perhaps some drop for the gentle giant.

I want audio and video clips when you get this thing. It's going to sound insane with intake and exhaust

Yeah. I sometimes wish I'd gotten something cheap & easy on gas & focused on building up an old pony car or something. It'd be much easier w/o the damn computer in the way & other limitations. I don't hate my RL & I haven't had near the problems as some but I'm hardly satisfied. That goddamn rattle from the engine is at the very least embarassing when sitting at a stoplight.
