Winter traction

Just wanted to see what everyone was thinking about doing in regards to rims and tires for the winter.

winter traction is an oxymoron for us.
My plan:
Forget second gear exists.
Drive company truck as often as possible.

I brought up this question a few weeks ago, and it fell on deaf ears.
I too am giving this thought. Unfortunately this may only apply to us in Canada and the northern States.
As I mentioned previously; I am wondering if SAAB rims and tires will fit our car. I know the wheels are 5x100, with 42mm offset, but that's all. Could someone with a SAAB see if their wheels will fit on a Redline?
I know there are a few SAAB's for parts vehicles up here, I could take some wheels from!

It all depends on money. If I can afford it I would love to get cheap rims AND a set of snow tires. But, more than likely that won't happen so I'm going to opt for a set of all season performance tires so I won't have to change every fricking season.

One of the very few benefits to living in Loisiana. It snows maybe once every 3 years. Of course, people have no idea how to drive when there is snow, so it makes for a craptastic drive to work.

I'm pretty sure the Saab rims will fit. Its a 5x110 pattern as well, not 100. I think.
