Wow 2006 Rl

Well, I just took my truck to the saturn dealership to see what they'd give me on trade for an 05 redline they had left on the lot.... Well, they were taking a fully loaded comp RL off the truck so I asked about it. They said it's the first 06 they've got so I take it for a spin. WOW!!! I LOVE IT!!!! They're gonna do some research tonight to see how much they can give me on trade for a 2000 F250 Crew cab diesel fully loaded lariat. If they can give me close to payoff... that 06 is mine!!!! 1.2 miles! We pulled up to a stop sign and a mustang GT, '00 body style, pulled next to us. He revved and the dealer told me I could take him so.... well, it's been a while since I've driven a stick! haha hit the rev limiter in 2nd and then I stopped because I was wearing combat boots and it was too hard to shift.

They're asking $24,333 but that was including the aero spoiler which they hadn't installed and I told them not to install it. Anybody out there have the 06 comp? What did you pay?

Josh

Well...saturn "asking prices" are set in stone...there is no dealing (with the exception of used cars). The aerowing spoiler costs 400-500 installed (I think). They probably think they are going to do a stripe package (ie the dealer, which costs about 250 and is a scam) so you are looking at about 23,500 not including tax.

I don't know if you should do it. The only reason I bought the 05 redline was because of a)employee pricing and b)0.9% apr for a 5 year term. I don't think you'll get either of these on the 06.

Ya, the employee pricing is a big thing. I am getting a RL no matter what. The thing is that I was settling for a base no option '05 in red just because it was a good price, but I really wanted at least a sunroof. We'll see what happens tomorrow. I may end up not getting it after all.

24,xxx for a new 06? Is that out the door? The 06 prices went down to start with to 19,995, and then the comp package whch also went down to like 1200 or something close. What other options? If you get it w/o the spoiler, that's like a good $500 saved. Just what was thinking.

Honestly I have a fully loaded RL because the other RL the dealer had was being used by the manager and it had scratches on the doors. I wanted a barebones, I ended up with fully loaded (stupid me). Anyway: the sunroof doesn't go into the car body it sticks out once it slides back (it's very GM), and honestly not worth the nearly 1,000 bucks it cost. Anyway of the options there are no options really worth the GM factory price.

The upgrade sound system is nice but it's not really worth the 300 bucks it set me back (this is an amp and speaker set) . The in dash 6 cd player is also nice but again not worth 300 bucks. The moonroof costs too much but I use it, it's nice to have and girls really really like it (park, turn the car off, and look at the stars through the sunroof while holding her in your arms (across the seats), she will put out). The aerowing spoiler blocks your line of vision (where cars will be if you drive this car at speed)...also...bad for cop sight (cop tracking speed from behind) and it's flimsy. The best thing, as far as I'm concerned, is the satellite radio (which is free for a paltry 3 months). Ethel, Squizz, the boneyard, and the 80's hits stations are fantastic. They play ALL REQUESTS and no editing; meaning you will hear local h (high fiving mf...) without the screetch, fugazi, screaming trees, nine inch nails (without the edits), tool, etc. Haven't heard any bad religion but they'd probably put it on if someone requested it; and even better they don't just play the singles!

I never would drive a saturn if it were for the 0.9 and the employee pricing, but this saturn has balls and you get a lot of guff from pricks in pseudo fast cars...until you open up the throttle and watch their mouths drop in your rear view mirror.

Why do they need to research over night for a trade-in price?! I mean, are they up right now crunching numbers?!

I paid 24k with tax in PA for a 05; but it was fully loaded...and the only decent one left.

I should be damn well loaded for $24K, if not outrageous.

That's a lot for a RL. It's the end of the model year, you should be looking at a well priced '05. I got my bare bones (except for the advanced audio) '04 for a tad over 16k new with 8 miles on it in Nov. of '04. If you can wait a little, you can probably get an awesome deal. I wouldn't pay 24xxx for one. The price was the number one reason I got the car and fell in love with it after that.
