Guy in a Cobalt SS doesn't get it...

My girlfriend introduced me to a friend she works(we talked online) He drives a SS and my Girl Friend told him I drove a saturn Ion Redline. well we are talking and he asks me Y did u buy a Saturn? I told him its an Ion Redline, plus I get the GM discount and Military disc. He said no offense, but its a Saturn and Saturns r slow. At 1st I thought maybe he is joking and did the whole "LoL yeah but thats Y I got a RL, Its just as fast as ur car" he's like Not even close." I told him they were both the same car. He said if my car could run w/ his that Mine couldn't be stock. besides my Cobalt SS is Supercharged. I asked him if it was stock he said yeah. I said My car is Supercharged too, the guy had the nerve to tell me that Saturn doesn't make a Supercharged car and said if it was Supercharged that it was aftermarket. The guy wouldn't get it. he said I was trying to lie to him and set him up for a race and try to humuliate(sp) him. so now the guy wants to race me and check out my car. I asked if he was on CobaltSS.com or *************. he said no. Gosh he makes me mad. So much for my GF's Friend's approval.

Can't wait to get back and show this guy its the same car. same platform, same engine
well I lied it won't be stock for long when I get back, I get my suspension, Sway bar, and anti-roll bar installed

I was aimlessly driving around and saw 2 Cobalt SSs. Neither one batted an eye at my car. I was even lined up with one at a light. I can only hope that my insurance company can remain as ignorant as some of the SS owners.

I have a feeling that the insurance companies won't put two and two together. When the Cobalts start getting wrecked because of insane power mods we may be safe. One can hope.

I even gave the one guy a nod and he just looked at me like I was in a Tempo or something. I shouldn't be pissed because the sleeper look/image was a big selling point on this car but ignorance is still annoying.

Haha I love it when people have no idea what they're talkin about. I seem to run into them quite often. You know....the ones that think swapping out sparkplug wires add 10whp. But yeah that guy is either not really into cars, or is really not into cars. You shoulda let him think you were slow and raced him. The look on his face would've been priceless. But yeah next time refer him to google and he can see the RL and what it's really worth for himself.
