Question Oil Pressure Gauge

Is anyone running a oil pressure gauge? If you are is it mechanical or electrical? Where did you hook it in at? Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

Since the LSJ doesnt have an oil pressure sending unit (just a low pressure switch for the idiot light) you would have to purchase a gage unit that included it's own sending unit. I would just put a T-fitting it at the existing switch. It's threaded into the block just a bit below (and to the left) the oil filter housing. It will have a single TAN/BLK wire goint to it.
Remove the sensor and get a T-fitting that will allow BOTH the switch and your OP sending unit to to be threaded into the same oil gallery.It's a bit "tight" under there but this is the best suggestion I have for now- I will look and see if there's another plugged oil pressure fitting that might be used.

That's where I tried hooking mine up but there was no place around that could match up the thread. If anybody would know the size that fits that'd be great.

Actually I forgot there is another oil pressure sensor threaded ino the oil cooler. Maybe it's a better spot? (hopefully using NPT pipe threads instead of the 12Mx1.75 metric threads used for the switch)

Just FYI

The OEM sensor is useless, so you can replace the sensor by the Oil line to your guage... (only light if you have ZERO pressure... you will se it BEFORE on the guage btw!) on my last engine, just before he blow, I saw the oil pressure goes down (I release the gas, but it's was too late btw... the engine wasn't meen to rev 9200rpm haha!) but I got a light only when I was full stoped with engine blowed on the side of the road....

And if you want to put a T, don't put it directly to the block or he may broke and you'll lose all of your oil. Put a fitting about 2-3inch to get it away from the block!

-> Bad english!

I know all of that....I already have an extension about 1 foot long I just need to know if there's any places online that sell a good t-fitting that will fit b/c there is NO PLACE around here that could help me. Speed shops, pipe shops, hose shops, nothing.

That's the one that I tapped into WOP. The one that has the HUGE sending unit attached. I tried putting in a t-fitting that I thought fit and I ended up having to get a whole new oil cooler assembly. Talk about an expensive part (about $400).
