eaton working on supercharger upgrade

they should be working on a twin-screw upgrade kit, i'll be sticking with PSI-FI for any type of pulley upgrade as they'll have the piggyback to work with it, and other mods hopefully!

Eaton dose not makes a twin screw supercharger, just the roots type. I think Whipple is the only company that makes a screw type.

yes, but eaton owns lysolm, whipple is liscenced to produce their designs under their name, but essentially, eaton could use the twin screw design. that is why the housings are so similar if i'm not mistaken

kind of, the rotors in the eaton are fairly similar looking, while the twin screw has one that looks like a screw, and the other is like the threads, in so many words

No, roots uses 2 rotors that simply move air from one place to another, the compression or air or "boost" occures inside the intake. On a roots style system the air goes around the outside of the supercharger body and into the intake. A screw type compresses the air in between the screws and the screws rotate inward and downward.

Part of the ineficency problems caused by a roots type supercharger is that with the air compressed inside the intake it is heated in the intake as well, when the rotors turn they recycle a bit of air throught the middle and back up into the intake side of the rotors. This pre heats the air on the top side and ads to high charge temps in the intake between the supercharger and the cylinder.

There is lots of reading on the subject of roots type vs. screw and centrifical type on the web. The above is a really simplistic version.

I like to think that something in writing from the actual manufacturer of our supercharger is a step above a "rumor."
