Replacement Tires...

so i've done some searching here, but it doesn't seem we've got TOO many threads relating to what tires people are using.

i just got a huge chunk out of one of my tires from a friggin' curb, and am going to have to replace all my tires before this thing blows.

what tires are you running? have you used them in the winter/snow?

i need a decent all season tire that'll last, and perform at least as well as the dunlop 9000 we have. these blow in the snow...

the Falken Azeinies (sp?) have been highly recommended across boards, but do they take to snow well?

never been a tire person, and now that i've got a car that needs them, replaced, and is worth getting decent tires, i'm lost

any help is greatly appreciated!

The Azenis is more of a summer/autocross tire. For all around performance I think the BFG KWD II tires would be good one the RL's.

depending on the kind of snow your dealing with you might be S.O.L. in terms of a tire that will perform all the time. i'd seriously recommend just getting steelies for the winter. a kal-tire around here locally said they could get me 17 inch steelies by fall. (brake clearance, i'm not sure if 16 will fit...) (sure, now that the SS's are out...)

If you want true snow performance, invest in a studded tire. A studded tire would perform better than any tire no matter the rating.

have you had them in the snow yet?

i managed fine last year, but couldn't get out of my driveway when we got over 6inches and no plow came through. needless to say these tires are horrible in the snow, but can be managed in the winter. i'd just like something a little better in the snow, but can leave them on all year round.

how do you like them compared to the 9000's? i personally feel we've got some decent tires stock, but aren't even rated for snow WTF?

Those Avons look pretty busy. Probably perfom better than the 9000's in the snow.
BTW my buddy just bought a brand new 500 series benz with the amg package. Guess what kind of shoes the beast was wearing.... thats right.... Dunlop 9000's.

well these are like 100x's better than the stocks. especially at the drag, burn then grip. their great, unfortunally i have not had any snow experence b/c 1 i live in cali and 2 i bought them right after summer hit. so its kinda hard to say yet, but i did have some encounter with rain and it felt like i was driveing durring the summer still the ride is still great too, i love em

interesting...

i just parked next to a crappy little 80's celica with the 9000's, i looked and said to myself that they looked like mine, look over and sure as shit they were. glad to see GM went the extra mile for us. even if we did pay for it!

anyone else? these tire threads go nowhere fast
