Wow, I'd recommend educating yourself as much as possible when it comes to the law. These people have nothing on you. In the future if they ask, state that you passed them and didn’t exceed speed limit and if you did then be prepared to face the consequences.
As stated already, the police can't do anything in this particular situation. The officer can't 'cite you next time' or anything of that nature. A police officer has to visually witness you doing something before he can issue a citation.
Though a civilian could always call on you if you piss them off enough and if a cop is close by, he might swing around just in time to catch you in the act. But for most part, you're fine.

this. people could call you in doing 150 on the highway, but if a cop didn't witness you doing it, he cant give you a ticket.
^unless you admit guilt to them when they try to get the story out of you, all while they are giving you the impression like you are at fault when you haven't even told the story yet.
Lol..hurry or not..it's school. No need to risk people's lives to get to school or anything in general on time. Not trying to lecture you, just saying..it sounds like from your pt of view you were making justified passes. Next time you think your pass is justified, look around for an extra 5 seconds before you do it and maybe pass but not pass like you're in a race car. Lol
