So Im driving around town today not doing anything crazy and I notice that my clutch starts slipping like crazy Im like wtf this car is brand new so itake it to the dealership and they tell me that I need a new clutch after 12k that is total bullshit I mean I dont even drive this car that hard all I can say is that it better be covered under warranty as the car is only 6 months old if not i will sue Saturn of Fishers or force them to give me a brand new car! No wonder we get bashed on just when I though I found the perfect american compact car shit like this happens, I gurantee you wont see the clutch burn out on a civic at 12K

it should be covered by gm warranty on normal wear parts like that you get a 12/12 warranty on them. which mean 12,000 or 12 months which ever is first and because your right there they should cover it. and if worst comes to worst get in touch with saturn customer service do some complaining and then it will be covered. either way you should probaly get it covered and if it doesn't get covered do it yourself can't be that hard to do on the ground in gargage.

Well, that's almost completly wrong. You do get a 12/12 warranty on replaced parts, but not on wearable items like that. Stuff like clutches and brake pads can be destroyed by hard driving so they do not have to replace it. Now, if it has to do with a failed part or improper installation then that is another story. I've seen brake pads needing replacement after 7k of driving, and we just told them to drive better. Same with a clutch. If you run it hard and fry the parts because of your driving habits, then you are on your own, regardless of 12/12.

Good luck with the clutch. If they give you shit, tell them you want to see it torn down. Make them show how the part is damaged from your driving. That is within your rights. However, they do not have to cover that part under warranty. You will have better luck if you are polite and ask them for help, not walking in and telling them how you are not going to pay for this and that Saturn will hear about it. Believe me, I know what I am talking about on this one. I am a service writer for GM, and I worked as a service writer for Saturn for 2 years.

I don't abuse mine and mine has slipped occasionaly since @5000 miles.

I took it in and they "could not duplicate"...

I told them it was few and far between, and that it didn't do it every time, but now at 13000, my clutch feels soft. It's going in thei week for that and STILL RUNNING RICH!!!

If they cannot duplicate the problem, they cannot fix it. If you can drive the veh and make it happen every time, take a mechanic for a drive. Show them when it happens. That's the best way to get to the bottom of those type of problems.

How rich is your car running? The RL's are tuned a little on the rich side from what i have heard, some are worse than others. How do you know it is running rich? Do you have any DTC's for that? What's your gas mileage, also?

I've already had DTC's set, and in with all city driving, I can't even get the mileage up to 18mpg. I generally get between 15-17MPG in the city no matter how I drive. Blue N Boosted can vouch for me on that as well. Shifting under 3K in almost every gear (right about 3200 in first) and driving like I have no blower, I still can't get the mileage up. But, on the highway, I can pull 28MPG and have done so a few times.

Hell, I wish I could pull 28 on the highway. I get about 250/tank combined between city and highway. If you are getting 18, then I would bring it in. They may want to see a mileage chart with your gas mileage, though. I hate telling customers that we need that. Always pisses everyone involved off.
