Back to the shop she goes....

Well. I drop the RL off in the morning for another round of service. I have a small list of things for them to fix but this will be the 5th time I have had the car in for service since I bought it at the end of December. Heres my list:

#1. New driver seat. The leather is starting to tear on the left bolster on the driver seat.

#2. New steering colum. The tensioner that keeps the tilt portion of the wheel dose not hold anymore and they said it is not a servicable part so they need to replace the entire colum.

#3. Trunk scratch issues. When I went in the tech took one look at the Razzi wing on my car and said in no way would they cover it because of the aftermarket wing and the weight of the wing was damaging the paint on the bumper. After some comments with the service people asking them why in that case it had been covered on other cars with NO wing they decided they were going to make the necessary repairs.

Who hoo, off to the dealer I go

That driver seat thing, what do you mean by that. Do you mean that the leather is breaking away from its seal? Or is the actual leather tearing (like what would happen if you put a razer blade to it......i hope you know what i mean).

my seat definitley shows wear on the left side. I make sure to clear the bolsters, but it does get wear on it still. These aren't the top line Recaros, more like a Please build us a cheap seat with you name on it Recaro...

It's sad that I can bitch about this car so much...

Well, the left seat bolster catches the button on the back of my pants every time I get in and out if I'm not careful. That's gonna mess up any leather if it occurs for a long time... Wouldn't matter if it was a Rolls.

Yea, my left bolster has 4 scratch marks (like, where you literally rub the leather and make it stand up..its not THROUGH the leather, but just the top layer) and its from my back button on a pair of pants, ever since than I have been VERY careful.

my left bolster is messed up too but that's because I don't care about how careful getting in and out of the car.

It started to tear whear the material is threaded together and then latterly acrost the left side bolster. I'm very carefull when i get in and out of the car and it only has 7,000 miles on it.

I picked up the car today and was not very happy. First off if you have not had the "trunk fix" think done I would just be carefull closing the damn trunk and skip it. They put these three bump stops on the edge of the trunk lid that are almost right out in the open and then stuck these little round clear plastic things on the bumper.

They also did not do a thing with the scratches, they are still there . Also, now my trunk release dose not work .

I get in the car and the seat looks nice but they just replaced the upper part so now I have a driver seat that the top and bottom do not match (the color is a little off) .

Here's the best part though.....

I drive off and I'm happy to have my car back. As I get on the freeway I'm cruzing along and as I look down and loe and behold, what do I see....

THE STEERING WHEEL IS ON CROOKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could not believe it! I would think that if a preson would take a steering wheel off to replace parts that they would check to see if the damn thing is on straight when it is reinstalled .

Lord, I guess it's back to the dealer again on Monday.....

It seems that things like that happen way too often at dealers. I mean how could they not notice it??? And did they think that you would just accept it like that?

Last time I dropped mine for missing, they called said it was fixed, I started it up and a mile down the road, it started skipping again. Turned around, right back to the dealer and back into the loaner.

Hope it gets resolved man...

My driver's seat on the left bolster has one stitch coming out of the needle hole, forming a loop. This happened at around 9,000 miles. I now slide the seat all the way back when getting in & out. I plan on getting it to the dealer sometime in October to get it fixed. I plan on taking out the seat and marking it somewhare on the bottom just in case they say I'm getting a new seat and then just do a quick fix. Never trust a dealership, ever.
