Stock blower value?

I'm looking at going turbo this winter and was trying to figure out what kind of value I could re-coupe by selling the stock blower.

Anyone have any idea what a rough dollar amount would be on this? By the time I take it off it should only have about 8500 miles on it.

Just curious..............

holy shit im blind, i clicked this post thinking it said "stock blower valve"

it should fetch 1,000

some will say more, however the rl's and SS's will have one, so they arent main buyers, the 2.2's would want it, and they need about 27 gm parts to make it worth it, and if they buy them and pay 1k for your blower they will end up with a deal and it will be worth it to them.

bottom line, id take no less than 1000

MM, what do you think about a twin screw swap instead? I feel maybe it's a better first step? Either way, $1000 MIGHT be a little high to me. What does a Jackson Racing kit cost?

I thought about a twin screw but the more I speak to people in the race world the more I think turbo is the way to go.There is a guy in the twin cities that a friend of mine knows that just converted his 2003 Cobra Mustang over to turbo and made more power with less boost.

See Here

Turbo at 20.5 PSI - 766HP & 825TQ
Whipple at 23 PSI - 620HP & 630TQ

The above numbers are on a stock cobra block at the wheels

Yes, I too drolled over those numbers for quite a while as well but the basic moral of the story is a properly sized turbo can make more power than supercharger. I thought about twin charge for a while but the more I thought about it a good ball bearing turbo, sized properly, will spool damn near as fast as a twin charge set up, but not have the parasitic loss of the supercharger nor the extra added weight. Pluss, I want to do something that it different and do it my self.

I still have lots of research to do though. Should be a fun winter project.
