don't buy it, pay off the eclipse, sell it private party, and save up until you can reasonably afford it. i am getting married too, and sometimes i wish i wasn't paying off a loan for a car, marriage is expensive, take it seriously, you'll be glad you didn't buy one now. maybe by the time you pay off the eclipse, you can keep saving until you find a used redline and won't have such high payments. if you still owe on your car, your payments are going to be high and if you only bring home 800-900/month, it's not worth it!

good luck

see my plan was if i take and privitely sell the eclipse now pay off my loan and then either use the extra money as part of the down payment or use that money to pay the monthly payments. then i also have some rims and tires that i am tring to sell that are 4x100/4x4.5 18x7 with low pros and i was going to pay off the rest of the credit card (300) and im asking 800 for them so i would have some extra money plus i belive we are going to have a really small wedding now and then a big one as our renewing our vows. From what i kinda figured out was with my bills (gas, wedding money, (2) credit cards that have little money on them, like 250-300 each)and the redline payment i would have like an extra 90-130 dollars a month. but if ya guys have any ideas on how i could get the car and get it with lower payments than 250-280 let me know. Or if there is somewhere that is selling a redline for cheaper.

you're going to be selling yourself short trying to living off of $100/month, you don't want to do it. like i said, pay off your car, save more money, and that way you can put more of a down payment on a RL and not be so tight on money. one rule of thumb to live by is to make sure you have 6 months of living expenses paid off in a stash somewhere, then keep saving for emergencies as well. i'm only 22 and i've been living on my own since i was 16, trust me when i say you don't want to do it. i did it with my last car, and i won't do it again! hell, if i never did it in the first place, i could have probobly paid off the RL by now!

But there are also a couple of things on my side in a way. First i am 19 and i go to ITT Tech full time so i still live with my parents rent free (as long as i do whatever needs to be done around the ranch). Second my fiance is a MA that 80% of the time is bringing in around 800 - 1100 dollars every two weeks. So basicly the living expences are a no problem. no i dont plan on living at my partents till im 50 or even 25 hopefully not to far from now like a couple of years. but as soon as im done with school (6 months) i will be full time making like 10 -12 + an hour or even salary cuz im going for ceet (computer and electronics engineering technology so ill be making good money. i was just tring to find a way to make the payments lower or even lower the price of the car, or hell is there a car alot like the RL that is cheaper? I dunno i am the type that cant have a shittie car and it has to be pretty quick, sporty, and roomie.

I second that. Cars are bad investments. And at the education phase of your life you should be avoiding the expenses. Wait until you are in a more stable situation.

What part of cali are you from?? I was at Saturn of Santa Clarita about a week ago and they had at least 6 Redlines, in blue, black and red. Saturn of the Valley is usually well stocked as well, thats where I bought mine.

No ur not. But I keep my eye on the tach to make sure I dont over-rev it. Just by looking at the speedometer, I can usually tell when to switch gears by now since I know my car well.

i don't even look at the tach anymore, i've hit the limiter enough when i first got it to know when to shift now, i'll look here and there just to see if i could have brought it up some more, to fine tune my feel for the car, but i do not use the tach for shifting purposes anymore. anyone who tells you they like to look at the tach a lot when they drive doesn't pay enough attention to the road when they're driving hard.

the only time i think it's necessary to look is during normal driving to get all your shift points down for downshifting

Where in Cali are you?

The last time I was at my dealer about a month ago or so, they had 6 of them - the 6 that were there the month before that.
