I'm sorry, but didn't they dyno the car on the show and only gain 23hp?

There is no info whatsoever to support the idea that they will be raising the tach red line. What you did get from this is what the stage upgrade will have for the most part. 45-50 horses through stage 2... not bad....

dynoing a ricer is like beating off. it seems fun at the time, but theres really no point.

Everything from GM has stated that the redline will be increased to 7k. So much so that I dont even remember all the sources I got the info from but I'm sue someone else does. And a 70trq and 65hp increase are INSANE!

You mean about the dyno? Are you serious? If I make you an exhaust, and put 100hp gain on paper, will you buy one from me?

Ok, I just went back and looked at the AutoWeek article, which is the most official piece of information that has been released yet. They say nothing about a 7k redline in there at all. I know a few people have stated that they were told about a 7k redline, and I know the show cars have had it, but there's been no direct statement of a 7k redline from GM that I've ever seen.

Hey guys, you're forgetting that those numbers are SAE official type numbers, so that would be the crank HP, not WHP. That's why people were saying on the dyno 26 or so hp to the wheels. That and the torque matter at the WHEELS not the crank. It's all about how much you're gettin to the pavement

Yes true, but isn't the 205-hp rating from GM our SAE number? If so, we all know that MOST of the RL's are putting that if not more to the ground, let alone at the crank.

Yes this is true, the 205 is SAE at the crank. The only problem with that is it is a figure that GM pulled out of the air and is not a reflection of true HP. Internal politics between GM & SAAB division caused our LSJ to be rated less (on paper, not in reality) than the 210 HP turbo engine that it is based from. Believe it or not, I really don't care.
