Arrow RedLine keeping up with 04 Cobra???

Well, I was at work today, doing nothin special just greetin and treatin the customers that needed help. This one couple had walked in, and we were talking about some products. Somehow, we got onto the topic of cars and he told me that he drove an 04 Cobra that he was able to get cheap because of the new body styles, and all the reasons he drives it and such. I was telling him how I drive a saturn, "a supercharged saturn as a matter of fact" I said. he responded "O, the Ion Redline?" I was just suprised and said "Yeah, you've heard of them?!?" His response blew me away. He said "Yeah I've seen it too, and had a go at it in my car." I thought I knew what he was gonna say, but I was no where close. "There is a guy down the block from me (he lived in Detroit) that has a pretty beefed up one, with a ported blower and such things to go along. When we went the few times, he kept up with me till close to the end of 3 gear, then I started pulling a little bit." He said it ws less than 2 cars that he (the guy in the Cobra) ended up being ahead by. I think this is awesome, and the guys around Detriot need to hunt this RL owner down and get him to share his secrets. If this kind of power is possible as of right now, we need not wait for the GM upgrades, and start looking for alternative means, like this guy has seemingly come up with.

Now, if this had come from the RL owner, I wouldn't have been able to really believe it, but it came from the Cobra owner, and why would he have to lie about a 4 banger coming close enoug to winning to scare him a little.

Porting the blower can make a big difference, although I don't know how much in this car. Porting the blower on the cobra has yielded like 30-40 rwhp.

You can take it off your self and send it to a company that ports superchargers. I don't think we would get that kind of gain on our sc though. But I bet we would get around 10 but who really knows?

My friend sent his (04 Cobra) to Apten, I think that he was at 486rwhp, and he went to 513rwhp. But the best part about porting the blower is that the thing barely got hot! Before it could be 30 degrees outside, but if you were to lift the hood, it would be very warm. After the porting, you could touch the supercharger, and it wouldn't scald your hand. Although the numbers are impressive, the best part about it is the willingness to build boost faster, and lower operating temps. If I didn't have 2 mortgages to deal with, it would be the FIRST mod that I would do.
