When I drive the Saturn Ion Red Line, I enjoy the thrust but dislike the torque steer.
All in all, a good review. But ^^^

IS there even any tq steer? I mean, my dad's '98 Lincoln Continental (4.6L V8 FWD) feels like it'll break your wrists. The RL, to me, has none.

Good review. One mistake I found:

Quote:
the second pair at 5,600 rpm (at peak horsepower)
I'm too lazy to look, I don't know if the Saturn site confirms this, but this writer hasn't seen the dyno chart. We all know that the hp keeps climbing until the RL and never really peaks...

I usually feel it when I do a hard 1-2 shift.

In my opinion my 2005 has a lot of torque steer (which is my biggest beef with the car), especially after a turn with hard acceleration just like the review stated. Although my previous car ran the quarter-mile in 12.73 days...so maybe I'm a little biased.

Yea, if you rap it really hard going from 2nd to 3rd it will also try and drift just a bit but not a lot and it really is not an issue....

dynoing a ricer is like beating off. it seems fun at the time, but theres really no point.

Cobalt SS (64.9 mph) which runs 18-inch Pirelli P Zero Rossos and weighs about 100 pounds less
Another screw up... by the Chevrolet Cobalt website the curb weight of the SS is 2991. The Red Line specs at 2993, so we are talking about 2 damn pounds....

Good review, Edmunds usually puts out fair reviews. But here's what I don't get, how can they do the 1/4 mile in 14.6 but only get to 60 in 6.7?? Interesting. I like this comment: "I like the car's front-end styling: smooth, aerodynamic, and just a little nasty." Haha

That's what it's set at though. That's the "claimed" peak HP so that's where they set it. I would look at the last set of lightst to go off, 300 RPMs from redline and still makin power.

He said that when they did the quarter, they just rolled out from idle instead of launching a litte. Eventhough it netted them a slower 0-60 (by somewhere around half a second) they were able to get the best time in the quarter becuase they didn't have to worry about wheel spin/hop.
