Acetone =increase power +MPG?



Someone at work told me about this article on the interne and with gas prices the way they are I think it deserves a look. I have not tried this myself yet.

I've heard about that article, I personally wouldn't mule my car out for an idea as "breakthrough" as that one. It could be an amazing practice, but our cars are so sensitive to any discrepancies due to the high amount of computer monitoring. I think if it senses ANYTHING different, it will throw a code.

yea and that's sure as hell not the way I'd want to void the warranty

i know someone that might test it out

i wonder if mixing this and xylene would do any harm?

i thought it was xylene that you put in your tank to make like high octane?

an interesting thing to consider with the acetone, acetone is something like 5% water, and water is something you really don't want in your fuel line, hmm... (not being a nay sayer, simply stating my thoughts)

yep 1 gal xylene/toulene
3 gal 93 octane
1-2 oz of mystery oil



acetone appearently helps break down the gas' surface, which make it easier to atomize. makes perfect sense on how it works, but let's see if it actually does

0.05 of an ounce of water...in a 12+ gallon tank.... if you think there's not that much in there now, you're mistaken
