Well, yes....one of the bennies of a supercharger is instant boost response. I'm questioning how closely the two setups emulate each other in function, and whether the RL PCM "micromanages" boost levels.

I think the PCM knows what I'm doing put the PCM is electrical not mechanical so it can't move crap or do anything to stop me so it just tries to contain the beast under the bonnet

Anyone else want to take a crack at this?

I understand the concept of how it works. The "boost bypass" mod here: http://www.saturnionredline.com/boostmod.htm though, doesn't work, as proven by my dyno numbers.

So the "boost bypass" mod we're talking about is something different entirely. And the PCM may not DIRECTLY move crap around because it's electrical...but it controls stuff that DOES move crap around, otherwise, this whole discussion would be moot.

Do you have graphs of those HP numbers? Also, a dyno pull isnt an abusive condition so you get all your HP but when you launch, power shift and have wheel hop etc. so the PCM goes "oh no your not having fun are you!, give me 1/2 your power" but with this bypass your saying screw you to the pcm and keeping all your power.

I have the charts for the 100% stock pull. I will have the charts for the "boost bypass" mod tomorrow.

There are two charts here:

Dyno Graphs

One is uncorrected (actual) horsepower, the other is SAE corrected. I will also be posting a VIDEO of the "boost bypass" dyno pull. The graph is not very clear in the video (shitty camera)....although you can clearly hear the dyno operator say "no difference...no difference....although you gained 1 foot pound".

Well, that's what I'd think....but 9 psi registered on mechanical gauge at dyno shop makes me think the PCM thinks differently.

Which bypass are we talking about? Pics? Instructions?

It's the same as the one I posted that didn't work from what I can tell.

I've got a drag progress excel spreadsheet too. Back when I was dragracing. (many moons ago)

Going through it again, there were swings in some of the cells of .5 seconds. And there were no changes made. Same night, same weather, same setup. It's easy to lose or gain .3 seconds on a drag night.

Look at the days and then look at the time and the differences. The mod I did changed everything.

Have you dynoed your car with and without the boost mod?

I did.

Showed .1 less HP and 1 ft lb more torque. Virtually no difference.

If the boost mod you're talking about is the same as the one at the link I posted earlier. It didn't work. At least not on my car.

My spreadsheet looks very similar to yours in some respects. Multiple runs on the same night with differences (some significant, some not) in RT, 60 ft, ET and MPH.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but the empirical evidence suggests the mod doesn't work.
