I was reviewing all the posts here, as well as the Boost Mod tutorial, and something came to mind.
The 2 times I drag raced my RL, I split the beams in 3rd gear, or just entering 4th. Sp00ner dyno'd his car in 3rd gear, I dyno'd mine in 4th.
His dyno graphs showed a 10 hp increase, mine showed virtually nothing.
The RL 2nd and 3rd gear are much "torqueyer" (is that a word?) than 4th, and I'm willing to venture the fuel trim maps in the ECM differ depending on condition (engine load, temperature, etc..)
The guys I dyno with are pretty cheap (3 pulls for $75.00). I think I should go back to them soon and do a couple of 3rd gear pulls to see if there is any relative difference. The HP and Torque numbers should actually be higher in 3rd gear as the gearing is not 1:1, however I'll be looking for a relative increase.
I'll post results when I get them.
