and for the millionth time...the wot boost bypass override revisited...

1. How the heck didya pull the vacuum line off the bypass valve? dang thing is on there sooo freakin snuggly - it won't let go!!
I was standing on top of the engine pullin that dang vac line with both hands, wouldn't come off.....shiiiiiiiyyyyiiiitttteeee

2. everyone (and when i say 'everyone' I mean everyone!) says to pull the vac line from the bypass valve and plug it with sumthin, then leave it dangling in the wind.
and to leave the nipple (hehehe, he said nipple) open and exposed (hehehe) - shouldn't this nipple be protected or covered in some way??? is it a sucking nipple?? (hehehe) does it do nuthin when its exposed that way?? is it a dead nipple without the vac line??? does anyone really know???

from what i got outta it take a small screw driver and lightly pry it off. when you try to pull the hose it constricts the part around the "nipple" and will cause it to get tighter and tighter so that it will not come off easily.

okay i got mine off with a small flat head just push it off easily you'll feel it break loose.... it IS supossed to stay open as mark from psi-fi said closing it off would render it useless you do not want that!!!

and that, my son, is exactly my concern!

what is the open nipple doing?
is it sucking?
or is it blowing?

Dyno numbers with this hose off and plugged (BCS nipple open) showed virtually no difference in whp/wtq from dyno with the hose connected.

Exact SAE numbers with hose connected:

214.5 whp / 187.3 wtq

Exact SAE numbers with hose disconnected:

214.4 whp / 188.5 wtq

okay i'm not sure what it does to be honest but leave it open believe me you will feel the difference your car will not run good with it closed mark said to leave it open because closing it off makes it useless but with it not connected i'm not sure what it does but i can assure you there is a big difference in driving

Ok you can think what you want and I'm don't want any flaming!

Boost Bypass Does work! But you have to do the CORRECT bypass for it to work. Really don't care what anyone says I have timeslip proof. My best time on stock or wrong boost bypass was a 15.001. My best time with a bypass was a 14.7 and Blue N B00sted best was a 14.5. Think what you want I'm right and everyone else is wrong

I will take pics of the correct boost bypass tommorrow when I do a cool little project with my intake I'm working on and post them up a little later in the day.

So, you're claiming that the boost bypass, gave you .3 seconds in the 1/4? Wow... that's like adding 30 hp or so... I would chalk that up to a better run, rather than the bypass mod. Did you do the bypass runs first thing, or after you had a few runs in with it hooked up?

I've done the bypass, and every dyno I've seen, show it to be worth 2-3hp with no changes to the pulley. Change the pulley, and you can pull in more. No way the bypass drops .3 seconds of your 1/4 mile time. If so, then your timeslips will show a considerable increase in trap speed as well.

Well, I didn't find any pics here of the "correct" boost mod. Maybe I'm using the wrong search keywords.

This is what I did: http://www.saturnionredline.com/boostmod.htm

Like I said, the HP/TQ difference shown on the dyno between having that hose hooked up and disconnected (hose plugged) was basically zero.

One thing too...the dyno shops' boost gauge only showed 9 psi. That can't be right with uncorrected numbers of 216.x (SAE 214.5) HP / 190.x (SAE 187.3) TQ can it?

Ok Sp00ner you wanna rastle here we go:

When your car detects abuse on the driver your car gets limited to 9psi instead of the stock 12psi. That is common knowledge. Would GM consider drag racing abuse? Yes, I think they would. So lets say you loose 3psi because your "abusing" your car. Could that not be close to 30bhp, I think it could. And as for a better run... HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL no. I'm going to scan ALL of my slips right now. I have 6 from my first trip and 10 from my second trip. All of the slips have which bypass I used during that run written on them.

The key for the bypass's is such:
Stock: No Bypass
Bypass 1:Plugging the line coming from the actuator to the solenoid and leaving the solenoid nipple open to air
Bypass 2:Plugging the line going to the actuator from the solenoid and leaving the actuator nipple open to the air
Bypass 3:Plugging the lind coming from the Intake Manifold to the solenoid and leaving the solenoid nipple open to the air

Give me me a min to scan all my slips but here are the pics for the way it should be hooked up:

Whole Engine

The way the acutator should look:

The way the solenoid should look:

Slips will be up in a minute...
