Arrow Aftermarket Radio in an 06 Red Line

Has anyone with an 06 replaced the radio with an aftermarket one? If you did, did you need a different harness because of the onstar? im not worried about loosing the onstar, but i guess i should keep it functional if i ever needed it.

After looking on the crutchfield website, there is no onstar adapter for any saturn ion. looks like i will loose onstar till they come out with something, if ever. i might check with a local shop to see if they have anything though. well should be getting the new car tomorrow, it will be an 06 blue rl with the comp package, im so excited!

I asked this question of Tweeter (the store) several months ago. They indicated that you needed to buy a special adapter to keep the onstar capability. It cost like $200 for it. For that reason I decided to do the Saturn radio upgrade and live with it, rather than spend $ on both aftermarket and adapter when I order my redline later this year.

yes without the very expensive and "modified" since one for the car directly is not available harness you will loose onstar. other than that piece of cake install

lol.. i'm laughing at this cause your worried about the wrong thing.. the wiring is the easy part.. it's hard to put in an aftermarket deck when they don't make an installation kit for the deck to even be put in the stock location.. one wont be out for another month or 2... so don't even worrie bout it.. different radio means different type of braket needed to hold it in.. and right now no one has released a kit for the 06's... and on one is really working that hard on making one.. so don't hold your breath waiting for it
