Strange find during OEM Boost Gauge / Ladder Tach Install...

So this morning I had an extra hour and it was a beautiful day outside...

I am finally done moving and it was time to get some stuff done on the RL.

Removed the mechanical boost gauge I had in before and installed an Interceptor in its place. No sweat there, the Interceptor is TOO damn easy to install.

Now the strange stuff... After making sure the Interceptor worked right (which it does and it's bad ass!), I got started on installing the Boost Gauge / Ladder Tach assembly.

First thing ya do after disconnecting the battery is pull C1 and C3 from the ECU to install two wires into those connectors. White into C1-31 and Black into C3-10.

Well, I got the black cover off the back of the ECU harnesses and WTF? These wires are already there!?!? So I am thinking to myself, WTF? If the wires are in the ECU, then the harnesses are probably in the car somewhere right?

Heh... WRONG... They aren't anywhere on the drivers side, that's for sure... After hunting through all the factory harnesses on the drivers side for about 2 hours I slapped myself in the face to snap out of it and just say f*ck it...

I did the Amishland harness and the wire going into the fuse block was not there. I just pulled the two wires going to the ECU and taped them up, put in the Amisharness wires and all seems well. Those wires don't do anything else other than feed the Bopost Gauge and Ladder Tach right?

I have run the car since I finished and everything SEEMS fine, so far... No CEL's or anything. Boost Gauge and Ladder Tach work like a champ.

Anyone else run into this? I had the wires in the ECU harness, but nothing else, anywhere...

Hey Amishland, if you read this, Thanks! The harness is awesome!

Hey I think the harness was alreay put in your car, is it an '05?, if you look under your top steering cover and back a little ways there could be the female end of the harness alreayd there. hth

I had the whole upper dash assembly pulled apart on the drivers side. I looked all over the place for the factory harness and found nothing. I was pretty thorough, and can say with about 80% confidence that they just aren't there.

I am wondering where the wires from the ECU are routed to??? I suppose I could pull the car apart and route back from the ECU harness and follow the wires to their other end.

After a day of teardown to find the other side though, I'm sure I would end up ready to commit Harey Carey!

I don't have that kind of time! I would love to know myself though. They gotta go somewhere... They're still in there, so if I find out someday I DO have the factory harnesses in there I can just pull the amish harness out and plug that thing in...

The Amsih harness looks pretty ddamn factory though... REAL happy with that kit

It'll be a bitch to find out they are there after ripping the dash apart... I could swear I looked everywhere possible. How far back were they? I checked every harness running to the steering wheel as far back as possible without doing crazy stuff... Could you reach the harnesses without disassembling everything?

YES I FOUND THE PLUGS pretty easy but had some digging to do i had the whole surrounding dash apart though and they were taped to the harness up there. it has been determined that some had the plugs and some did not in 05

The black and white wires ARE in fact the factory wires for the boost/tach gage. You probably DID have the factory connectors there already. Likely tucked into the top of the steering column,(where other have been) OR maybe they are terminating them now at C201 (it's the big connector behind/near the drivers side kick panel area) That's where the 2 wires are routed from the PCM.
