Hmmmmmmmm I wonder why they only metion the 2005-2006 Red Line, I hope they don't hose us 04 owners.

I've been afraid of that because I could have sworn that there was a small change in the ECU or something between '04 and '05.

I think *read hope* they wrote it like that so it didn't look like they meant 2004 Cobalt SS as there wasnt an 04 ss.

I think all of us '04 owners hope along with you...some confirmation would be nice. We'd have to try and find an '05/06 in a junkyard and pull it from there or something.

i have been told by a friend there at sema, that asked this same question, and he was told it is due to the differences in the ecu. he said the guy didnt get to much into it but said the power can be had with the 04's but they will use a different flash or something along that line since the ecu is different. and the reflash they are working on is going to be used for 05 and 06 not the 04. again this is just brief quick info ill know more when he gets home with pics and specifics for me. so for now take it as you will but the guy at the booth did tell him no on the 04 model.

So, I'd have to switch to an '05 ECU.

again i say this is prelim and may be changed this is just what he was told by the guys in the gm booth. they could be fos for all we know though so i would wait and see before getting a new ecu...

Well that blows if thats true, whats a damn, '05 ecu run..and I imgaine saturn would have to install it..that blows chunks as well.

should plug right in... and you may now be able to start finding them at junk yards since the car will be 3 years out now.
