The hybrid has its own SEPERATE patent for god sake. Look on the first couple pages of this thread theres a link to the hybrid application for a patent. It's not called a hybrid cuz it has a smaller pulley its called a hybrid cuz its does something that my brain can't understand when I read eaton's desciption of how it works

I can't see any patent numbers in this thread but there is no way even GM would expect you to switch out blowers for a meager gain like that. Maybe they port the blower or something, I'll buy that.

Oh... that's the forward inlet that Vita was talking about. What I'm a little confused by, is what does forward inlet mean? The blower sits sidways, as far as I'm concerned. Just reading through it, it's either a complicated way of stating what we alread have, or it's saying that the inlet is sitting above the outlet. as opposed to at a 90 degree angle from it. This allows the blower to pull air from the top, and discharge from the bottom. As opposed to in from the side, and out of the bottom. Sounds like the inlet itlself, would face the front of the car, and be on top of the blower....

That patant info is a little technical for my layman brain to comprehend. It has a file date of February 5, 2003 so I'm thinking that it could be the blower we have already because we are the first car to use the newest generation of Eaton blowers. Who knows....
