I'm bringing my baby in...

To the dealership, and I have compiled the following list of things to get taken care of. I know it's a lot, and I am guessing probably more than can be taken care of in one day, but since I have to drive 3 hours to get to the dealership, and the guys there have been pretty nice and understanding in the past, I am hoping to get as much done as possible.

- Bumper scratches TSB# 05-08-62-001

- Intercooler Wiring Reversed TSB# 05-06-02-003
(Yes, I realize I am way behind on this one)

- Engine Runs Rough After Extended Crank, and/or Engine Hesitation on Acceleration after Initial Cold Start During Ambient Temperatures Below 10° C (50° F) (Reprogram Powertrain Control Module [PCM]) TSB# 05-06-04-006

- 05514 FEB 05 Recall - PCM Upgrade for OBD/O2 Sensor

- Fuel Feed Assembly Recall#04053001
(Is this one a safety issue?)

- Brakes squeak when coming to a complete stop in a turn (i.e. into a parking spot). Fine sediment observed in brake reservoir tank.

Like I said, I know this is a lot, but I am hoping that by giving them as detailed a list as possible it will help them. Also, I was wondering if anyone knows how sediment can get into your brake fluid. I checked it today, and I was like ?????????? I have never taken the cap off before, and there is quite a bit of stuff sitting at the bottom of the tank. I made a previous post a little while ago about my ABS light coming on, and I think this may be the culprit...

What do you guys think?

That's a lot of problems. As for the brake thing, it's only in a turn? That shouldn't matter. Check your lug nuts and be sure they are torqued. If it's also in a straight line, perhaps try some anti-squeal compound. It worked for me. Ask Saturn if they will put some on for you since you're going in so they can fix their faulty product.

....ya know.....

usually the dealers don't particularly care for you to show up with a list of TSB #'s you found on the internet...

and then for you to say "here...do this stufff..."
they don't like that.

they prefer for you to come in and say things like:
"my car is doing such n such"
"ohhh...and by the way....just in case it's relevant, I happened to find this technical bulletin which sounds quite similar to my problem...."

then they say, "ok, we'll look into it"

fwiw

Where are your bumper scratches??

I am having that problem where my trunk and bumper meet. This is first time I have heard someone else complain about it. I have had my car for 2 months and it looks like shit in the rear.

I prefer to read the tsb nearly word for word to them and let them figure it out for themselves.

I prefer to roll the paper up into a cylinder and smack them in the head with it while I rub their nose in the problem and say "NO!!".

Bwahahahahaaaa.... Maybe sometimes, in some situations, it is a good thing to bring up TSB, especially if they say there is no problem...

Sadly, consumers are often more informed about issues with a car than dealers. The internet has given people access to sources that were not available in the past. However, many times, the info may also be incorrect, and only make one look like an ass. I have pointed out a recall before to a dealer, that they siad did not exist. Tailgate cables on my 2000 Z71. I did as the letter said, took the truck in and asked for the cables. They told me that they would not give me cable, but would charge me for the upgraded cables. I told them there was a recall, the tech said there wasn't, I produced my GM letter and drove off to a GMC dealer and got my cables. The other dealer had called my house before I arrived home and apologized and asked if I would like to come back. They sent the cables to my house two days later with a note saying they would glady install them. I actually did go and give them the cables back, and explained that I would rather they get to someone who needed them, vs. me keepin a free set.
