I have no airbox and it's raining here.....

Should I be worried?

I picked my kids up from school which is a total of about 8-10 miles round trip. I tried to stay on the higher parts of the road and avoid any deep looking puddles.

I know I was pissing people off because I'd slow way the hell down for dinky little puddles.

Anyhow, I got home and popped the hood and the filter looked dry and felt dry to the touch. Still though, I worry because if I suck any water up in there and ruin my engine, warranty will not cover it because I took the box off.

BTW-putting the box back on is not an option. I destroyed it in order to get it out.

Whew!

You should have seen me driving like a damn grandma.

I was relieved to see the filter was dry (or appeared to be) when I got home.

You could also look into a dry-charger from Outerwears or K&N. It is a pre-filter coated with a water repellent coating. Hope this helps.

you should have no problems, if all you have is the K&N dropped in where the airbox was you'll have to be in water up to the MAF to hydrolock it

Has anyone tried this, instead of taking the box off try cutting out either the front or back of it ?
