Those with Barry's intake mod

for those that have done the intake mod, i am in dire need of your airbox lid. i am going to purchase a MAF sensor as well as the lid (if anyone is willing to give it up, that would be nice) to send to a company that is trying to help make an adapter for the MAF.

they want to flowbench test it and make sure all the dimensions are right. here is a copy of what they sent me:

"Well here is the problem. The MAF sensor is not only the unit that sticks into the tube but the tube itself as well. A bigger tube will mean that less air gets sampled and the car will run leaner. Even the shape of the tube and the entry will have some effect. I suspect that the air filter mod in that picture will even change things a bit. If you have a scan tool (we will be making one after we get our Cobalt). You should be able to look at the short and long term fuel trims to see how much. We build MAF sensor tuning devices and have a flow bench to measure this sort of thing. This unit will need to be designed on the flow bench so that the car does not run rich, lean or have drivability issues. If someone has a stock air box, tube and sensor for sale on your board I would be happy to buy it and start working on it. That is the only way I know of to correctly make this part. It may have to be cast or molded from plastic; it could be CNC depending on quantity. Who knows, slapping it on a 3” pipe could work, what is the ID of the stock part? I am sure these were not the answers you were after but it is what it is. Let me know if I can help somehow"

so if you can help out in any way, i'm sure all of us would appreciate it, as this is pretty much the last step before the intakes can go into production. thanks in advance,

Tj

Vita, Saturn will not sell you just the lid. They sell the airbox as an entire assembly. $220.

I was gonna try to get JUST the box without the lid since I destroyed mine taking it off. For that much bread, I'll just wait for an intake.

i know, i was going to get the maf, it's only ~82, but i'm looking for just the airbox lid, as i'm sure some of you have no use for it anymore, please donate to the cause, they're willing to buy it from you worst case, but i figure once he starts figuring in costs, he's likely to charge more... lets do this people!
