went car shopping yesterday

Ok so I went out and hit a few dealerships yesterday kinda scoping out the market. Our first stop was at a Ford dealership. I see they have an 05 Mustang GT on the used lot so I goto check it out, unfortunately it was an auto and all my interest was gone. Next to it was a 02 Stang GT Yellow, painted blck scoops, giant monster tach, it looked very gawdy. We are about to leave when here comes super car salesmen and points to my buddies probe and goes " you thinking of trading that piece in on something that will destroy any car on the road?" He was referencing the yellow stang so I cocked a smile and asked him how this stang was so unbeatable. He replied," It has a chip and flowmasters!" I luagh at him and tell him the car would still have to worry about stock Camaros kicking its ass. He looks puzzled and I decide to ask if they have any manual 05 mustangs. "Nope" he replied, " this is the only one. We can't keep them on the lot!" He then proceeds to inquire how much money I was looking to spend. I inform him that I would like to keep it 20k or under. He chortled and quipped, " your not even close to that on this car!" I asked him how a car that MSRPs for 25k could possibly not even be close on a used car. He told me, " These cars are so rare that they are actually worth more used than new." I was stunned. I couldnt even come up with something smart assed to say. I litterally just sat back in the car and drove away while he just stared at us wondering what just happened. We drove through there new car lot and there was 9 new mustangs sitting there, didn't seem to have a problem keeping them on the lot. I have another decent story from the 2nd Ford dealer I went to that I may post later.

I swear, most dealers must do whippets during coffee breaks. All them brain cells, just gone.

I can't help but think of Freakazoid and a local Saturn dealer. They have an '05 RL that's been on the lot 1 year+. Won't budge. "People coming to look."

Or maybe, just maybe, we need to give dealers more props for taking advantage of the unimformed

there was litterally only one dealership (Chrysler) that I went to where the salesman was not an asshat. The chevy guy didnt even get out of his chair for me. "I am looking for a car 20k or under," "Theres a Grand Prix out there" .........nice

Guys thats one of the reasons I got out of the car game her in Indy. In four years I worked a t two local dealers and all the other guys besides me were assholes. Sure the money was great but I was not willing to let myself sacrafice my principles just to sell a car I tried being honest with people and it seemed to work. Too abd management never saw it my way I swear some of these guys dont care how they sell you the car its like they have no souls!

I sometimes like hearing sales people talk just to see how much BS they're going to sling. I remember accompanying my mother to one lot. She wanted to pay cash for the car (yeah my mother can do that I wish I could) but the salesman tried to tell her that if she finances the car that it would be cheaper. I guess maybe the salesman was using "fuzzy math" or something.

Hey Clown if you decide to buy another GM vehicle (new) I could get you a GM in the driveway certificate. Just to give you an example, a GTO with a window sticker of $34,295.00 gets a GM in the driveway price of $32,113.97 or an Impala SS that retails for Total MSRP:*$27,790.00 would go for Supplier:***$26,142.08 Yeah you have to buy a new one, but a couple of thousand off is always good. PM me if you want a quote on any car with whatever options in particular. I would've been able to check what incentives you have available in your region, but I couldn't locate "omnipresent" on the incentives map
