YES you don't want to get water in the SC because it'll go into the engine=bad news.

man unless you drove through water up to the top of your tire there is almost no way to get that kind of water in the intake..... i have drove in the rain constantly with mine and have 0 count em none zip zero problems... the filter is so high up there is almost no way....but if you did somehow manage to get water in i would def bring it in asap and they will most likly tell you your stuck paying for any damage since the intake sucked it in.... good luck..

I was surprised about the insurance covering things like that.

A guy local to me with a hopped up SRT4 sucked in a good amount of water, and hydrolocked the motor. Insurance covered it! Even though the intake was not factory.

that's interesting, so what's that considered then by insurance? comprehensive/collision? anyone know for sure? obviously you have to have the one type and the deductible is the main reason i ask

OMG... there is NO WAY to get water into the motor with the stock, or K&N intakes. Both short rams place the intake MUCH closer to the ground than the stock or K&N CAI's do. Now, of course it's POSSIBLE, but like Z said, you'd have to be in pretty deep water. If you're in water that deep, either of the two SR's are under water at that point. Unless you're still using the stock back half of the intake and the airbox.

If you DID get water in there, yes... get it in qucikly. You should be able to see water in the oil if you did, it will look like chocolate milk...

My insurance covered my hydrolocked SRT with a stock airbox - took about 4 weeks & cost about $3200 total

Comprehensive claim there, unless there was an impact and damaged the intake tube causing the water intrusion.
