Well my RL isnt stock and it was a newer model GT. Not a 05 but the modle just before that. I didnt "spank" him by any means, but I won. He said he had trouble launching but two times he got on it good, I only had him by a half a car or so. He also beat me once. It was close the whole time. Those GTs are fast, I am just a little bit faster

How 'non-stock' can you possibly be? The model before the '05 ran for a long time, some of them are not that fast.

The model before the 05 was the 04. Which ran from 99-04. All them are rated are 260 hp/ 302lbs of torque. So the only difference in some would be autos and sticks. The autos run like 14.4 stock and sticks 14 flat and some cases 13.9. If the Redline is quick at those et's then all them stangs are quick too. Sorry not trying to argue..i like the RL..but the stang is my first love. If u are referring to the 96-98 GTs with the 4.6..that was a different body style..and those had different heads and cams. so not exactly the same model.and yes they are slow stock..but for 1k for a headswap and intake of the newer cars they as fast if not faster..bumping a 98 from 225 horses to around 275 horses. I know my car is slow..but i am working on it. I started out with a 15.3 so i know!! lol

Hey! None of that 'if he spent 1k on parts....' crap! I hate Mustangs, but I know that's a pretty fast car he's claiming to have beaten. Your car isn't really slow either, stop saying that! Think positive! Remember if the person sitting next to you thinks you're gonna beat him, it puts all the pressure on him. Lotsa chances to screw up when you're nervous. That's why people here have such a good time racing, they never have any pressure from a possible loss, since we've been underdogs the whole time!

Edited: I wouldn't know the difference between models either, to me, I think of it like the Camaro generations. Body style = Generation. I know it's not totally accurate, but when you have to make a quick guess on the street as to what's next to you, you can't see the engine or know the year!

No harsh feelings..u are a very smart guy and i enjoy your input on here and u can hate mustangs, but i love your redline. I wasnt saying if he spent 1k on mods he would have won..blah blah...i am saying on the 96-98 4.6 that were rated lower, if u do the headswap of the 99 cars and newer u have more power then them and that cost around 1k..so thats pretty good as far as mods go. 60 horses almost. Just giving a lil bit of info so if u line up next to a 97 GT and u think he has 215 horses and he tells u he has the PI headswap u know whats up.. I just gotta stick up for the stang and the redline seems to be a quick car..just seems alot of people, not saying u, get on here and say they beat this and that and with their stock cars i cant believe it all. I guess anything can happen on the street, so i guess thats why i like to hear drag strips stories..from a stand still to the 1/4th, now thats a true race!! And yes my car is slow, but it doesnt look it now and DEFINITELY doesnt sound like it, so it does get lots of people wanting to run it, and i know ill lose! lol

I have to hate it, there's no Camaro around because of it! That's also the beauty of an American V8, need power? Just get $50 and some free time, you're bound to add a couple of horses! Just looking for that 'if I' or 'if he' stuff. Street 'racing' is 1/2 smarts and 1/2 speed. I used to look for RWD high-horsepower cars in the rain, or in the morning when it was really cold/icy out, knowing that if I got them excited enough at a stoplight I could take them to the spot where the 2 lanes merge into one. Seeing a long haired guy in a 125 hp Saturn SC will get a good musclecar driver REALLY excited, especially when I start revving all 125 horses of pure fury. Light goes green, he lights up both tires so bad due to the weather that he dosen't even move, while I floor it and still don't spin the tires! Next thing ya know, I'm in front of him going down the road. I'm not saying anyone in here is lying or anything, I just know the 'strategy' that goes into some of these quick stoplight to stoplight runs!

Oh, and BTW there's no way to convey emotions here, so just let me clear up the fact that I wasn't really arguing with you or anything. Just a Camaro owner jabbing a Mustang owner.

Even after its death the mustang/camaro struggle lingers on What year do u have? I thought u had a vette?? Ohhh i like camaros and vettes and all..i have to hate them cuz i drive a stang but i do like them, still american muscle cars. I admit..the other day i was inquiring online abouts some late 90's trans ams. They look bad ass and fast as hell..but if i did that now i wouldnt have my stang and i couldnt have my family redline in a few years and i want a brand new car finally..so ill keep my stang to play with and get my redline, unless i run across a good deal on a trans am in a few years, but i think ill get the redline just for the now and its bigger.

Why would you think Im lying to impress a bunch of people I dont even know. I dont need to BS to look cool infront of these guys or to make myself feel better about my car. Keep inmind that I did lose one and was close on two more. I dont understand why thats so hard to believe. Im not a big fan of stangs but I respect them. I know there are loads of them that can hand me my ass and at the same time there are loads I can beat also. You cant denay the power that lots of mustangs put out, but this one was lacking alittle bit.
