Stupid Cavalier

OK, let me set up the scene here. We're sitting at a stoplight, i saw a cavalier beside me, but i heard a nice exhaust growl coming from somewhere. I look in my rear view mirror and see a full size truck, so I'm thinking it was him. Needless to say, this cavalier takes off when the light turns green and i see 2 bright exhaust tips looking at me.

Now I'm interested cause i know he's thinking about trying to take me. I sped up just enough to catch him, but not totally catch him so he thinks he's faster than i am. Next stoplight, he's revving on me, so i look over, give him the thumbs up, and the light turns green. we took off, and i stay right beside him cause i know we have a nice stretch before the 2 lanes merge into one. Once we hit 95, i just wave at him and take off cause i knew his car was gonna shut off in the 107mph area.

Well, i pulled over on the side of the road and waited for him once both lanes merged cause i wanna play some more and really show him what this car will do. He pulled over behind me and was like 'how does you Ion go so fast? What all have you done to it?' My answer was simple - 'the Ion is stock and it goes fast cause i paid for it to. I could have bought a cavalier or cobalt and saved a couple grand, but instead, i'm paying an extra $75/month to surprise everyone.' He got a quick laugh out of it and we left. Never told him it was supercharged or anything, so i'm betting he's gonna go out this month, but a Ion 2 or 3 QC and think it's gonna be as fast as mine. Like i said, I'm paying for the surprise and the thrill. SO that'll be my next surprise

You have to be carful with those Cavalers. Chicagostreetracing.net use to have a video of a cavaler smoking a redline. Im tyhinking the cavy was ether turbo or 50-75 shot. Either way, good kill.

You can hear the Redline in the video burning it's tires all the way through 1st gear and part of second before he shut down. I think that had alot more to do with it than anything, a 50 shot would only get you into the area of a Redline's horsepower, assuming it was a newer Cavi, which it wasn't in the video, he'd need a 75 shot just to get the same horsepower. Not to mention that they were 'racing' on blacktop, at night, and while it was snowing. Some of the newer ones at least have 150ish horses, but not an older one, my old SC2 5spd could pretty easily outrun my buddies 2000 Cavilier, it was an automatic though.

this was around a 2000 or 2001 Z24 with the 2.4 Quad4 engine. I knew the car, but didnt know the driver. This area isnt very rich or anything, and I've lived here for like 15 years and have not seen anything more than a CAI and exhaust on a sport compact. I just don't see cars with aftermarket turbos or nitrous anywhere. You can call it a deprived area, but i call it the 'haha, i just whooped your ass with a stock saturn' area

hey that was me in that video... when i ran that cavi i spun all the way through second cuz i didnt know jack shit about launching then.. plus durring that run something messed up with my clutch thats why i totally stopped in the middle of the track...u guys just wait for this summer ill post more movies of me eating kids for lunch and that cavi had shit on it just body kits fart tips and some window tinting hehe the eclipse i ran right before the cavi s moked the shit outta the cavi off camera

Thank god bro! I know that Redline was spining hard, I knew it wasn't the Cavi that was burning the tires! I also saw how much you smoked that Eclipse by and KNEW you weren't gonna lose to a Cavi like that.
