EVO vs. Mustang GT

I raced the newest body Mustang GT last night it sounded like it had a intake and exhaust. He was pretty loud, overpowered the sound of my turbo spooling.

We did one race from a dig, I just completely murdered him. I had like 3 cars on him off the line and he gave up. Next race we go from a 20mph roll, I was in low rpm's in 2nd so I needed time to spool so he got a small edge on me but once the turbo kicked in, I immediately regained my ground. Neck n Neck by the end of 2nd, switch to 3rd and pass him and keep going. By the time I shut down around 100mph I had like 3 cars on him.

I was done, beat him once from a dig and from a roll..

Up the road I was just driving along hella slow, he does a ricer flyby on me cuts me off and turns off on a side street.

The end..

yes I know, isnt that what EVO's are for?

I had fun with the RL too. But I could never touch most V8's in the redline, now the first fixed up V8 I run into I murder.

I don't even tell you guys about my twisty runs.. OH MY GOD, I feel like a WRC driver the way this car handles. This car is fun in the straights, but it's god like on the turns.

i drove my brother's 99' trans am the other day(3200 yank stall, 3.73s, comp cam, full 3" exhaust, air lid, ls1 edit, a few other bolt-ons that I can't remember) and its the first time I have drove it since the major mods(I need to get a video up of it) and I had a kid in a Sti try to race me... His exact words at the red light was "i'll rip you out of the hole"... Even on the street tires, I was even with him until about 40, then it was over, the look on the kids face was the best part, you could just tell he wasn't use to getting worked like that...

with that being said, if I ever were to buy an import it would be an evo or a sti... dsms are quick out of the hole, but they fall flat on their face at about 45... Evos and Stis are quick out the hole, but can put up a fight up top as well(though after about 90 a stock Ls1 f-body will start to pull on them)...

i'd like to race one just to see how I would fair in the gtp, I know I would get torn up off the line, but i'd like to see what I could do once I finally hooked...

I'm kinda diappointed by the new Mustangs, when we went to the strip, old man's wife was running hers. Like 14.3 or so.

I'm DESPERATE to find a 'fast' car to race right now, I've got a full tank of 100, and about 27 degrees of timing advance now! Why can't you live here dl??? Would be a good gauge from someone that knows how fast the RL's are stock...

northern california? nope try the other side of the U.S.

also factory, gtps are not much(only good for high-14s at best).... But its amazing what $700 can do for one...

you can honestly knock off OVER a full second of your 1/4 mile time... sure there are cars that can do the same, but you just don't expect it from a grand prix... that is why I love my car, I will get beside people and "boost up"(i have to pretty much entise all of my races) and the people usually just chuckle... but its now so funny after about 60'... I'm now wanting to get an Intercooler w/ methanol injection($700), an XP cam($250), and drop down to around a 3.3" pulley... should net me really low 13s... though honestly i may just stop where i'm at with it and move on to bigger(c.i.) things...

as far as turbo awd cars, all I've had a chance to race in the gtp so far is a dsm(which was on the video) and a non-Sti WRX, which I don't know if it was that the kid couldn't drive or if they are really that slow, because he beat me out of the hole but after that it was like racing a stock civic or some ****

yah my buddy has a dsm and those things are god out of the whole and on the street, cuz awd owns the street, but however they break all the friggin time. no joke. and from my experience with them they are good till about 90 or end of third then they just shut down lol, would love to get one cuz it's cheap and fast but dam they break all the time
