Killed By A 96-00 Ek Civic Cx.

hey a couple of days ago, I got humbled by a 96-00 EK gen civic CX. CX civic = commuter 62hp model civic weighs around 2000lbs. two races, both the same result. I lost by 2 car length both times. The guy's mod's as follows.

Civic CX gutted. just driver and passenger seat, dash, rear completely gutted.
b16a2 motor 170hp and like 120lbs torque stock.
Intake, header, exhaust.
60shot nitrous.

He blew enough black smoke to cover a whole street.

This guy was quick, got off the line slow but once he hit 2nd he blew by me like nothing.

I've raced alot of honda's in my day, but this has to be one of the quickest i've run into besides 2 others.

Civics are pretty quick. And when they are stripped down they weigh nothing and with the built motor and nos, I bet that thing hauled.

Surprisingly those motors can actually take a lot of abuse. We got a guy putting down 274fwhp with a stock b16 with only 7psi of boost.

Yeah he was quick, he was 3 way racing with a celica GT and a s14 240sx SE he was whompin the 2 other cars by 6+ car lengths. I was like HA! this civic is slow so I go between the celica and 240sx and catch the civic. He really was not slow, he was taking it easy on the celica and 240sx. When he showed me his true power, it was no fucking joke! NO JOKE I TELL YOU!

That's nothin'! The SR20 in my car can handle 300+ with stock internals @ 10psi. Anyways, I raced an older civic hatch last night that I heard was "fast", and he didn't start closing the gap between us until 4th gear. My car is stock except for a short shifter and a timing advance w/91 octane. His car is gutted, and is supposed to be running a racing tranny. (So he says)

Show me a timeslip....there's no way it's running low 12's on stock motor. With just a turbo. Ill give you low to mid 13's but no 12's. What model hatch <> coupe? Motor??? Z6, B16, B18, H22????

Its possible, running off of an H22 or GSR B18 motor its possible. Thing is by everything he should include..cams, cam gears, lightweight flywheels, headers, and a big turbo thru all this. I've seen some other stock Honda motors run high 11's before, but after that...always a 347 Stroker or something like that. As for my cars motor (B16C) wouldnt be able to take that kind of power.
